Thanks! Good idea. I tried it last night and was able to recover about 400 tracks from my computer (I'd had to delete lots of the old songs I'd copied from CDs to free up space on my hard drive). Nowhere near the number I'd lost but it will still save me several hours of uploading them onto my computer again. I'm not sure what the problem with the iPod was. It wasn't anything to do with the synchronise. I just noticed a few days ago that a couple of tracks weren't playing correctly. I plugged the iPod into my computer to see if they would work when I played them in iTunes. They didn't and it made my computer crash. After that I forget what I tried but it seemed to just mess up the iPod completely.

I've searched the forums and found a few references to this problem but nothing relating to a solution. I downloaded Recova on a recommendation after losing roughly 5,000 music files from my 120Gb iPod Classic (I'm not really sure how it happened originally). The iPod still works correctly, as I put a few 'test' songs on it to check, and they play correctly. However, when I run Recova - and answer the questions in the wizard - nothing seems to happen, apart from a message in the bottom corner of Recova saying 'The parameter is incorrect'. None of the advanced options seem to make any difference. Can anyone help? There are several 'iPod restoration' software options on the internet, but they are expensive and there's no guarantee they would work.
