  1. Can someone please tell me why many trackers and junk appear when I am not working Internet. I closed down last night, cleaned down, removed all trackers and junk, then opened this morning and immediately opened Ccleaner and did a search and there were 10 TRACKERS and 14mb JUNK. I cleaned down and Ccleaner removed 11 TRACKERS and 15mb JUNK. I just started up my computer, therefore, were did those TRACKERS and JUNK come from, when it was all CLEANED DOWN before closing down the night before. I am confused---how does trackers appears when you are not on Internet and just turned the computer ON.
  2. G'day Nergal, There must be 450 entries that need to be Fixed, and they are all uninstall of KB updates. If i do a back up, am I able to save it to my external "G" Drive, and if do so then to fix the problem if one exists, how do you retrieve your backup. I assume that to do a back up you make a new "restore point"? Thanks for your info. Regards
  3. I posted earlier and I meant to download an attachment with my posting to show the entries. I then went to edit my OP and attach these attachment but there was no facility, or that is I couldn't find a facility to attach the attachments in the edit mode. Sorry for the confusion. There were 144 uninstall reference issues, and I attached the first 42 as their are 14 entries to each part. Thank you for advice whether this safe to do or has the TFC has done some insiduous action?
  4. I was a bit suspicious of downloading this free programme, Temp Files Cleaner, and I did check out reviews on different sites. When I started it I began to clean “C” Drive, and ended up cleaning out 4,000 temp files, but I did notice amongst the deletion were many late MS KB’s update numbers. I then used the Ccleaner and it removed some more that TFC didn’t, then I did Trend scan and all was well and it cleaned out three cookies. I then went back to Ccleaner to check registry, and I found a number of conflictions, and many were: Uninstaller reference issue c:\window\$nt uninstaller KB981852.spuninst.exe…etc., etc. I checked the many KB numbers and it was notice that they were updates from mid-2011. Is this function normal, and I didn’t “fix selected issues” Can you please advise me urgently? Regards
  5. Oh well, still the same. Closed down Win Vista that only sits on standby and isn't used, and when I closed down and cleaned it down before closure it cleaned 17.5MB. Closed down Win XP, and had been surfing the Internet all day and viewing videos and it only cleaned 100KB. When a month back it would clean down over 30MB It doesn't make any sense at all. Regards.
  6. Sorry, I forgot to say that I am using Internet Explorer 8, and I always close down any programmes before cleaning, and don't touch any of the browser settings.
  7. Thanks for that, I looked everywhere for my original posting and couldn't find it. Anyway, I never had this problem ever, but three updates back, this strange event began. I haven't changed any settings on CCleaner and all the basic boxes are ticked as they have been as long as I have used CCleaner. But, now when I clean down the XP computer after using it and surfing the net all day, it removes sometimes only 100kb or slightly more, and it hardly gets into the MBs, where before it would remove anything up to 70MB. I haven't changed anything, unless MSN, Hotmail and Live has done something to my tool settings to stop me from removing any of their unnecessary stuff, or their is a bug in the system. The Vista computer, is only turned "ON" and I hardly use it, but when I close down on it it removes MBs, where you would thing it would only removed KBs, a small amout of temp files and cookies. It all just doesn't make sense, why CCleaner isn't functioning the same on the XP computer. Any ideas? Thanks again
  8. I have already posted on this subject, but somehow or another it disappeared---where did it go? Well here I go again. Have CCleaner latest downloaded onto two computers one Vista, and theother XP. The vista is used, but just kept turned on and when I do a clean down it removes MBs. The xp is used all the time, but when i do a clean down it only removed KBs. Why is this so, is the a bug in the system? Thanks.
  9. Interesting, because I have been having the same problem since two updates back. I have CCleaner on two computers, one Vista and the other XP. The Vista is hardly used, but it will wipe stacks of MB off, and the XP I am using all the time, and only wipes KBs off. There must be a bug in the system somewhere.
  10. I have the latest version of CCleaner (V2.36.1233) on two computers, one using Vista and the other using XP. The Vista computer I hardly use, but when cleaning down of unwanted stuff, it always cleans out usually between 10 to MB. The XP computer I use all the time, and lately since the last three updates of CCleaner, when I clean down, it removes only 1MB or less, when before it use to removed stacks of MB. There appears to be something wrong, and could there be something on my computer that is stopping the cleaner from removing some stuff. It's strange because three updates back it use remove stack of rubbish. So why now, only a small amount, when I am surfing the Internet all the time on this computer. Could someone have put a hidden programme on my computer?
