  1. Sampura, I agree totally: ?So I don?t recommend using CCleaner with Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, before this broblem is solved.? I had almost the same problem using Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) (build 7600), BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 5.17 01/28/2010. And I NEVER even used REGISTRY CLEANING. To wit: CCleaner V2.36.1233 Wiped out User Profile Registry 1. Ran CCleaner yesterday for cleanup of: a. Internet Explorer - All options b. Windows Explorer - All options c. Systems: i. Recycle bin ii. Temp Files iii. Clipboards iv. Memory dump v. ChkDsk File fragments vi. (NO OTHER SYSTEM OPTIONS CHECKED OFF) d. DID NOT CLEAN ANY REGISTRY FILES! e. Glitch: i. PC ran OK BEFORE running CCleaner. ii. Upon reboot after running CCleaner, my PC WOULD NOT ACCEPT MY PASSWORD. COULD NEVER GET SIGNED ON. iii. HP PC-Doctor found NO hardware problems. iv. Have used CCleaner for many years, never a lost registry until yesterday. v. Wiped out my Password in User Profiler Service Registry! vi. Why: ??? vii. Afraid to use CCleaner again. f. PC Desktop: HP-Pavilion AY608AAR-ABA HPE-137c, Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) (build 7600), BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 5.17 01/28/2010 , 2.50 gigahertz Intel Core2 Quad Q9300 2. I am now NOT using CCleaner at all because of this problem! Stretch114
  2. ****************************************************** RaZoR, I too was confused how this could have happened since I DID NOT run the Registry Cleaner. I really like & support CCleaner but I am gun shy to use any of it again until I fully understand how this happened. I finally got my Geeks downtown to repair the ?User Profile Service Registry? and all was well, minus $45 bucks. I now have saved a Password Recovery to use if this ever happens again. Thanks... stretch114
  3. ******************************************************** Don, Tried ?Safe Mode? but that still brought me back to a sign in where I had to have the Password. After so many failed starts, Windows 7 ask you to insert your ?Password Recovery Disc.? Only problem was that I had never made a Password recovery disc.
