Solved. The list which appears in the RUN dialogue box I was seeing was in fact files accessed via browsers. For example, if I'd press 'n' for 'notepad', I'd see a list of all files accessed via, for example, Chrome - starting with the letter 'n', example: netbook These were eventually cleared by re-ticking/checking the browser 'History' box of CCleaner's options and a regular clean removed them. So even though disabling SysRstr will clear all (if any) save points anyway, after the above, new save points were still present after further reboots? Thanks for your reply.

Aside from the 'Tools/System Restore' function, is it possible that CCleaner could be deleting System Restore points either during a manual clean or at (re)boot? Almost every time I reboot, I find all my System Restore points have gone. Syste Restore IS enabled and the drive space for System Restore to use is set to 5GB. Thank you. Hi I love CCleaner and have done for quite some time. I've used it for years, recommended it to many friends and always install it on any system I get my hands on. I've always trusted it too, assuming my data was securely deleted and beyond the grasp of anyone mildly familiar with the process of recovering it. My question is regarding both CCleaner and Recuva. CCleaner deletes my data and Recuva does the obvious - but under what circumstances does my data become UN-Recuva-ble ? ie: I want to continue to use CCleaner with the same confidence that I've always had - that my data is gone - overwritten beyond the stage at which it was recoverable. However, can Recuva simply undo my overwriting ? I don't particularly want it to! So, can CCleaner delete better than Recuva can ....recover?! That is the question. Thanks
