  1. Hi there, Changing ISP this week, and need to do a back up first. Cannot find anything on screens to let me do this - have checked under Internet Explorer, Yahoo and Outlook Express but 'back up' is not mentioned. Keep defrag, disk clean-up etc.,regularly checked - also have problem getting Scheduled Tasks to open... am I missing something basic, please. Using Windows XP SP2 . Thanks, Molly
  2. Hello MikeW, Many thanks it may have helped me if something like this had been available when I brought the printer from a reputable (?) national store ? Hopefully, I shall understand what I am doing now ! molly
  3. Hello the Group - advice please on a printer problem. Recently had a Driver problem with my Brother DCP 120C - got that fixed, but now cannot seem to get copies of photos etc., from the printer to the computer. Cannot find any instructions to explain how to get the photo copy into a folder (presume that is necessary) to be able to do insert/attachment to an e-mail. The printer works fine on both scan and copy, just cannot find how to do the transfer. Very basic function, I know - but please help a Silver Surfer if you can. Thanks in advance, Molly PS - rridgely - from March 28 e-mail - I was not successfiul in tracing the list of passwords - am still looking...
  4. Hi rridgley, Thanks for your reply. I waa trying to recall a special list held in the computer memory of each password/ etc., used by an individual since they began their computer days. I know I have a note of it somewhere - when I find it I will let you know ! Molly
  5. Hello the Group - I am sure this question has been covered before, but can someone please remind me how to find the list that records usernames and e-mail details previously used by an individual ? I have been out of circulation for a while, and have returned minus much of my memory box !! Many thanks, Molly
  6. Hello the Group - long time no hear from me - sorry ! Had the big 'Crash' a couple of weeks ago - the Engineer thought it was a Registry problem when I tried to change browser. Have got back most of my work, but in Microsoft Windows, the 'Operating System' page now whas a 30 seconds wait time - can I reduce this time, please ? Yahoo main page has disappeared - I have to access Yahoo Mail via msn.com/Internet Explorer page - how can I get Yahoo main page back onto my screen, please? In spite of running/updating AVG Spyware, Spybot Search and Destroy, SpywareBlaster and general Maintenance, the unit is running very slow - can I 'tweak' this up without crashing again ? - your help appreciated. Molly
  7. Hi Guys - have not forgotten you all, - am stuck in a time warp... will reply asap. Bren
  8. Thanks Eldmannen, Have run C/Cleaner, plus Spybot S and D, avast!, SpywareBlaster - the offending Wanadoo is still in place. Notice that Adaware, re-installed in the New Year is missing - I will have a bash at replacing this to 'fill the hole'. Have asked MozallaZine for a comment ..... will keep you informed. Regards, Bren
  9. Hello the Group again>.. I have just installled Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird (with Google as default.) When clicking on Firefox (either Start page or Taskbar icon) the page goes to Mozilla Firefox then to Wanadoo Webmail- Mozilla Firefox. Cannot find 'Wanadoo' in Control Panel or anywhere else. Is there a way to delete this Wanadoo title please? ...it was my ISP several years ago but was deleted/cancelled/removed 2 years ago. Regards. Molly
  10. ..... Hello rridegly and all - Wrote a long, long email Saturday p.m. in Draft form and put it (I thought) into Save Box until after dinner - it has just simply disappeared...have checked every file on my computer - no luck. (The ISP closed down my session part way through...) I am really disillusioned with this computer business - mail does not arrive, my efforts get lost, and the only ###### screen that works 100% is Solitaire. I really appreciate all your help and offers and will try and get an email written again in the next few days. Am fast coming to the conclusion that I will have to close down/uninstall/whatever there is on my computer and start all over with very few sites/pages - as not much works anyway, I will not be losing much. Is there a proven 'dump it' button somewhere in the workings....? Molly PS - the Zone Alarm action worked, thanks..
  11. Hello rridgely and Mike Rochip, Many thanks - will follow this up Friday pm and report back to you. molly
  12. Hello the Group - reading through the posts - you seem to cover topics very well. I have a problem with Zone Alarm at the moment: keep getting a message box saying "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services is blocked from accepting an Internet Coneection." Could anyone please give advice on this if I gave more background details ? - the build up to it is fairly lengthy and a bit complicated. Many thanks in advance. mollywilfred
