From winapp2.com's download page:
Winapp2.ini A set of over 2500 extensions for CCleaner, System Ninja, BleachBit, and Avira System Speedup. Current version: 5.19.160702
Is this site not getting updated any more with the move to GitHub?
-
Yes I 2nd the thought / need for winapp2.ini at least to be posted in a compressed format, maybe winapp2.7z or .zip.
Is the winapp2.ini being updated on winapp2.com and anywhere else it has been posted?
-
When downloading from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/master/Winapp2.ini it opens in Notepad (Windows 7 Home) there are no line breaks and is in UTF-8 format. Can it be put in ANSI format with lne breaks please?
-
Can the following post be updated whenever the winapp2.ini is updated please?
========================
Link to download Winapp2.ini Version: v5.21.160816

They look good to me, but you don't need to post a text file showing us what it cleans. Also, just post the entries here and anyone who uses it will say if it is good or not. Not like anyone who doesn't use it is going to know what it does anyways.
I believe you need to re-read what I said. The entries posted were from the winapp2.ini for the OLD Yahoo Messenger - just asking if anyone has done any entries for the new Yahoo messenger desktop app client?
-
Do you have the same problem if you disable active monitoring? Options > Monitoring > then uncheck all 3 "Enable ...." entries.
-
I used to use Yahoo Messenger (messenger.yahoo.com) but now use their yahoo messenger App for Windows Desktop and would like to have some CCleaner entiries to clean the app.
I have posted on Yahoo's support forum:
and have included the folders for yahoo Messenger on my system.......

Removing softwaredistribution can/will break windows update. That's why it has not been re-added to winapp2
Does it still break WU if you
net stop wuauserv
before cleaning the folder then
net start wuauserv
after....

P.S.
some are like:
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\Open Find
C:\Users\Galloway\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\*.db
The other thing - be nice if CCleaner could do a BeforeClean= and an AfterClean= and both would run the applications either before or/and after the entry was cleaned.
-
I use CCleaner (the latest version with the latest winapp2.ini) and then another system cleaner. I'd be interested if someone could look at the files the other utility cleans and come up with entiries to add to Winapp2.ini please. Anyone willing to help with this endeavor?

Has anyone determined which option specifically is removing people's Quick Launch bar (so that can be unchecked for future scans). I've Googled it but I'm not seeing any specifics. Please help if you know. I'm using v3.20.1750 (64-bit) on Windows 7.
Thanks!
Might want to check:

Here is the entry that I exported from CCleaner.exe
[Temporary Internet Files]
ID=1001
LangSecRef=3001
LangRef=3101
Detect=HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
Default=True
SpecialKey1=N_INT_TEMP
I have no idea what N_INT_TEMP does and I searched all the forums on Piriforms site and no relevant matches were found.
No ideas - maybe contact the programmer -

What is the entry that lists SuggestedSites.dat? I have windows 7 still and don't have anyhting you mentioned pasted \Windows\ ......
that path does not appear in the *.ini files inside CCleaner.exe or in the current winapp2.ini - so not sure how it's getting found in the first place
-
If this has already been discussed, I apologize. Recently, when I run ccleaner it shows deleting Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files, 5,121 KB. It keeps reappearing after deletion like something is looping.
I have unchecked everything I could find in IE, even tried turning it off, but to no avail. Has anyone else seen this?
You should check everything in IE - except cookies. Also remember in Windows 10 - there is Edge and IE.
The other thing I can think of is maybe there is a antivirus program running that is trying to connect to the internet?
-
What windows version are you running? What happens if you run CCleaner while in safe mode?
-
Why not if your suggestions don't help - to delete the Icon cache file then reboot?
[Icon Cache*] LangSecRef=3025 Detect=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows Default=False Warning=You may need to restart explorer.exe for this to take effect. FileKey1=%LocalAppData%|IconCache.db

1) It might be wise to see if
%windir%\system32\more.com
actually exists
2) also might want to try running a full antivirus scan....

So the last update would be the last time WinApp2.ini was updated - hence "Current version: 5.15.160311"
For all the self maintainers these should be all the new entries, edits and removals since that last update.

Thunderbird entries have Thunderbird in the entry name. Seems redundant.

The latest CCleaner is 5.16 but the latest winapp2.ini is 5.15 - any idea when a newer INI file will be released? I know @winapp2.ini does this on his free time - but just curous..

I am on the email list for a few groups on Piriform - there has been a lot of S.P.A.M. the last few days. Maybe he means he blocked the senders today.....??

The files which CCDump creates are also exported with
C:> CCleaner /Export <folder to store files in>
%ProgramFiles\CCleaner.exe /Export "%UserProfile%\Documents\CCleaner\"
No need for CCDump.exe ....
