The RegKey1 entry for Yahoo Profiles stores things like custom status messages. Has nothing to do with the messenger profiles folder tree. I know that some people will want to remove the HKCU...Yahoo\Profiles but keep the chat history. That is why I suggested spliting the one entry.
Basically any thing after the "=" starts with HK is a registry key and hence needs Detect line. If what follows the "=" is a "%" or a drive letter then it needs DetectFile line. Does this make sense?
with the changes I recommended - if you wanted to send me a revised winapp2.ini as a private message - I'd be glad to look at it ...... before you post it ....
-
The followng errors were found in the [Version: v1.0 build 101218] of winapp2.ini
Format is Line number : error found
Follwing lines have: "= "

Should have DetectFile instead of Detect.
1105 : Detect=%ProgramFiles%\Go!Zilla

Warning for [Yahoo Messenger Logs*] is wrong. Change

to
Warning=This will also delete your useage loges.
The RegKey1 for [Yahoo Messenger Profiles*] should be moved to it's own entirty.
A statement for [Yahoo Messenger Profiles*] should be added, such as:
Warning=This will also delete your saved chat histories.

You could check out SpinRite - from http://www.grc.com/sr/spinrite.htm. It's better than running chkdsk or scandisk. I highly recokmend it.

The Detect line doesn't work here:
[Yahoo Messenger (Logs/Cache)*]

It need to be a DetectFile line for a file or a Detect for the registry. the best detect line would be:
Detect=HKCU\Software\Yahoo\pager

[ACDSee 6.0 Standard*]

How would an entry look like to clean the folders in the respecitve OS versions?
-
I read on the recent WindowsSecrets newsletter:
"Take out the trash ? all of it. Needless file clutter makes a system harder to use and slower to operate. For example, AV scans and Windows' indexing both take longer when they have many junk files to process.
Start by deleting old $NtUninstall{xxx}$ files from XP's C:\Windows folder; these files can occupy a shocking amount of space! You need these files only when a Windows Update fails and you (or the OS) have to roll back your system. If your system is working fine, $NtUninstall files serve no purpose."
So far I have in my winsys2.ini:
[Empty WU Rollbacks]
LangSecRef=3003
LangRef=3141
Default=False
DetectFile=%windir%\$NtUninstall*
FileKey1=%windir%\$NtUninstall*|removeself
Is this correct? I'd like to remove the contents of each folder and the folder itself - just not sure if CCleaner will handfe multi/unknown folder names correctly?
the quote about needing the files if an update goes wrong brings about another question. Is it possible to do a custom warning message like there is already for Windows > Advanced settings for CCleaner?
thank you in advance
-
Hello, I'd like to clean what I can from these programs and not sure of what the entries should be; Does anyone know or have any feedback?
anyone have any replies please?
-
As the user can export the uninstall list it would be beneficial and easy to export the startup list. _please_....
Thanks for adding that around 3 years after i made the request!!!

Helping someone with netzzero hi speed client 2.0. Clicked on the hispeed icon. Dont see a toolbar that has settings and then clicked advanced settings. There is a tray that says hi speed after I right click on it, it says 100 percent, and pop-up filter. when I right click hispeed it says hispeed menu. Options are turn hispeed off, filter popups, settings, performance summary, image quality, speed test, refer a friend, help, about. Anyone know how to clean the

I know I can edit the winapp1.ini file and replace 8 with 9 for the AVG entries but not sure if that is 100% correct.
And I don't know where to begin on the entry for VLC as well.
Any help appreciated....

I had hoped for a reply from staff that they will work on an update for CCleaner. FLV Player has also disappeared from CCleaners list. A sad development indeed...
Did you find the entries for "FLV Player" ??
-
I think this is done so if someone installs a new version on top of the old version, custom scripts created by the user won't be lost.
You would think there would be some other way of doing that since you end up with two folders in program files.
Might be nice to have the scripts installed to \program files\MyDefragScripts\Example and \program files\MyDefragScripts\Scripts then the versions in \program files\MyDefrag - now that sure would be helpful. Or at least with each version proved a message saying that these scripts are backword compable with n.n.n version.
-
This is what THIS stickied topic is for.
And have you simply posted a list of all your programs? Some of those listed don't create anything that can be cleaned and some are already in CCleaner by default.
Wouldn't it be a good idea to9 have post of all the possible applications and necessary cleaning then if the user thinks this winapp2.ini would take too much time then he can ask someone to weed out the unnesessary entries based on the users installed programs?
-
Can someone tell me how to set firefox to clean the caches when exiting please? Or direct me to the online docs for how to do so in firefox?
-
No, it's skipped completely if Firefox is running
Might be a good thing to consider adding some delayed cleaning at reboot....
-
You see that message when you run CCleaner with Firefox running. Due to the way Firefox is built CCleaner can't clean its cache files while it's open so skips them and provides that message
Does the cleaning take place at the next reboot?
-
Under what conditions does the message in the subject appear? From the exported log file i see:
Firefox/Mozilla cache cleaning was skipped.
C:\Documents and Settings\owner\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\cgo3pyp7.default\formhistory.sqlite 7 KB
Thanks in advance

I have exported the add/remove programs list and didn't know if there were suggestions fopr what to clean =- maybe a custon winapp2.ini ?

Not sure how to in CCleaner but in AOL do this:
- Go online with AOL
- Select Settings from the menu
- Select Toolbar Settings
- [X] next to Clear History Trail and Auto Complete after each
time I Sign Off or Switch Names
- Select Save
- Close the Computer Help window
- Close/Exit AOL
After following these steps you will not be able to use history trail or auto complete until you reverse the change listed above.
-
Why List all the ones with no settings?
To see if other people who use the applications I listed would share their entries.
