  1. Well, I figured I would try using a sound card instead of the integrated one. No luck though, when I plug my speakers into the jacks on the card I get no sound. Still get sound and the constant tone on the existing jacks. So im not sure if the card is actually working. Ok, I finally got the card workin and all problems are now fixed. Guess the easiest solution was me stop being cheap and buying a desent sound card and mic.
  2. Thanks, I will try some adjustments.
  3. I tried reinstalling the drivers from the install disk and gateway has no new updates when it scans on thier website so Im not sure. @speytone...Feedback was probably the wrong term. More along the lines of constant squeelch even when mic activation is disabled. I have no idea what the trim before input means so Im assuming no.
  4. I might have to try that then, cant hurt to try and any improvement would be welcomed. Thank for the input guys. @Dennis, no relation here to rridgely, though he has helped issues of mine in the past. Thanks again all.
  5. This is a new one on me. I've been getting severe feedback from my CP speakers from what I thought to be my mic. This issue just aroused for the first time not to long ago, less than a week. I made no sound changes in that time or shortly after, hopeing it would fix its self. Ive tried adjusting everything I could possibly imagine here in the last few days, with no luck I end up with 2 scenarios. 1) I get the squeelch to stop but cannot talk at all, or 2) I do nothing, can talk but everyone gets pissed at the squeelch in the background. I have 2 mics and tested with both with the same result. I even disconnected both mics to test em out and still got the steady feedback so Im really lost now. Its only a big deal because I play alot of online games and use TS and Voip, which I now have to avoid for the sake of my buddies ears as it is a high pitch steady tone. Any thoughts or suggestions???
  6. Thanks for the feedback everyone. As ive had similiar problems aswell esp with creating more problems than fixing. Think I will remove and go to the trusty free protection as before.
  7. Im wondering if anyone familiar with this program likes what it does; based on user friendlyness, effictiveness, system requirements and in comparison to other programs . Also if it is cost effective, or can you get the same result from any number of free or cheaper similiar programs.
  8. I hope dells replacement cds are cheap. I thought I would need mine that I lost. Gateway wanted like 200 bucks for them to be replaced. Needless to say I found other routes.
  9. The download didnt work when I went to play it, might try it differently next time instead of torrent.
  10. I personally dont like the fan on the top (if thats what is is) as I usually have a cd or game case ect there. Also agree with Andavari as to the looks. Reminds me of a cp at a library or school or something. Id go with a different color choice.
  11. I just watched the trailer of the film and must say that its effects are impressive. Would be nice for an English speaking version as I dont like subtitles though. Anyhow, downloading now so I will check it out. Thanks.
  12. Cool, thanks for all the help everyone. Think I can manage from here.
  13. is that the right link? Page cannot be displayed??
  14. You know, i never tried to place the cards I took out into the empty spaces so that I will try. Other than that they appear to be the same, the originals and the ones I bought as far as I can tell atleast. I will also check out the link for future refference. thanks. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 11/18/2005, 19:37:41 Machine name: GATEWAY Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Gateway System Model: 510 2900468 BIOS: BIOS Date: 01/23/04 19:02:20 Ver: 08.00.10 Processor: Intel?
