I'm not terribly familiar with Vista network connections, but isn't whether it's LAN or internet a property of the connection itself somewhere? I.e. does it just need reconfiguring? It does sound like your laptop rather than the network. Other things to try: Disable / re-enable the connection. Remove and recreate the connection.

If it wasn't showing in the Services list I'd be very surprised if you could start or stop it; it's absence would suggest it's not registered. I didn't know though, that the net service commands respond to service display names . I've always used the service name before; e.g net stop ReflectService.

Hi hydro, welcome to the forums There's nothing hidden about ReflectService.exe; the CCleaner Startup tab monitors start-up programs but not services.

Sysinternals' Process Explorer will generate a process list in a text file ... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb896653.aspx (just watch where you're saving it ... default seems to be the PE exe directory) I'd recommend Sysinternals' AutoRuns over StartupLite because it's much easier to see what you've got, but it's not really a tool for the inexperienced ... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb963902.aspx. The advantage of StartupLite is that it will suggest unnecessary processes for you. Unfortunately once you disable them it doesn't seem to give you the opportunity to re-enable them later, unlike most start-up utilities. I'd be inclined to use StartupLite to identify processes and something else (e.g. Autoruns [advanced] or Mike Lin's StartUp [simple]) to disable them.

I've been on 5.8.7 for donkeys years, never had an issue and yes it works. Haven't bothered intercepting 6 though.

CCman - when you say 'deleting' entries with USB Dev View what do you mean? There is no delete option - are you uninstalling? If so, then as per my earlier post it's not just as simple as removing the registry entry. That's where I was going with it's too complicated/indiscriminate to do as a normal CCleaner option.

That's your choice - there isn't a half-way house! You use the word 'need' - there's nothing that needs to be cleaned ... i.e. nothing that will hurt your computer if you leave it there. Unfortunately I can't tell you explicitly what other items are not cleared when you uncheck this, in order to assist your choice; maybe another forum member can. Although to be honest I can't for the life of me think what other junk Excel could leave behind to clear up ... recent docs might be the only thing!

Yes it is - it is simply the way that your file sharing is configured that precludes your access (i.e. the default for XP Home). I'm not suggesting that you should change it - I'm just pointing this out for the sake of other people reading this thread.
