    User error?

didn't wanna start a new thread being this is just rehashing this topic. so now i have ie9. typed a search into the address bar, there was an old enrty suggestion from the might b4 in the drop dowm menu. ccleaner had allready been run via autoshut down. i suppose there are more paths to add to custom folders in addition to the above mentioned now. i just need all user tracks gone after using ccleaner. so what am i now missing? vista. pls/ty. EDIT, i have the latest version.

    User error?

Ty sir, Jeeze you all are quick! Your avatar looks familiar. Like a member of B.C. Anyway. This pc was given to me by a neighbor after I cleaned massive amounts of mal/spy ware. The lady purchased a new one since there was no way of ensuring it was totally clean. It was built by a small store that is now closed and gone. No recovery partition or backup discs. Since that time cleaning apps have evolved and updates came down the pike. I have learned a little as well. So I?m fairly sure it?s clean now. However, I am still w/o any backup OS. So it?s not just a matter of privacy, but cleanliness as well. I did not include the ?active? folder, only the ?last active?. Ty. I will try it. In lieu of that, I will just shut down the session recovery thing. One of the pages stored made my CPU peg. Took several minutes to pull up the task mgr and kill IE. Kept creating more processes of IE in the mgr as I was killing ?em. Difficult to get ahead of it. Ty for your time. user error.

    User error?

well, this morning i opened IE and low and behold, it asked if i wanted to restore last session. doesnt ask since i followed the instructions posted above. actualy, it did it once immidiatly after following those proceedures, but it took me to home pg. this morning it took me to the last browsing session from the night before. Note; i now just run ccleaner at the end of the day and rt click on the tray icon and select "shut down after cleaning". i am an old stuborn guy, easily frustrated. very inexperienced. i followed the proceedures to the point where it says "your done". well after this, i went back to the above link, and after it says "your done" it lists more. appearently i wasn't done. FFFFFFFFFFFFRICK. it also lists "%USERPROFILE% \ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Recovery \ Last Active". just where the heckle is that? i did a search of "last active" and came up with ( it wont let me c/p so), http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y99/llunasea/untitled.jpg i'm thinking, this is already done through C:\ Users \ {username} \ AppData \ Local \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Recovery \ Last Active. it would be nice if ccleaner did exactly what it says it does, clean user histrory, with out setting up special parrameters. or at least state that if you really want to delete user history you need to do *****. i just want my pc to be clean of user tracks at the end of the day. it begs the question, is the anything else ccleaner doesnt actualy clean that i need to include? extreemly disappointed and frustrated, olddog. but i am not discourtious, thank you.

Ty Jamin4u, Custom folder as well eh. "I use the CCleaner method. That way if there is a crash, I can reopen the last session." agreed! Home PC so run at boot up is all I do. Ty for the help.

    User error?

XP SP3 IE8 Ccleaner v2.21.940 For the first time since the IE8 update I actually clicked on ?restore last session? when jumping online in the AM. It came up with some old pages. wtfrick? I have all but, windows log files, start menu short cuts, desktop short cuts in ?system? checked, and all but prefetch is unchecked in ?advanced?. The option for deleting only older than 48hrs is unchecked. What might I be missing here? ty
