I have done an update check via the link on the CC Console and it takes me to a CC web page which states there is a new version 5.44 6575. My CC current version is shown as 5.45 6611. This suggested new version looks wrong by virtue of the lower version number to that already installed. I have deleted CC and reinstalled and get the same result. Does anyone have an explanations? I just checked my windows 8.1 registry and found a whole list of 'Installer Reference Issues - c:\ProgramData\Hewlet Packard\.HP Registration Service\Staging\AIA'.. Previously I have completely cleaned my registry. This was a first show for these items. My question is it safe to delete these or should I leave them alone? They seem important although I do not really know and wonder why they have just appeared the list is too many to count. I would hate to boldly delete then find my computer will not start up or operate. Thanks in anticipation. N

Thanks for the replies. Reading the attachment it looks to me like cleaning cookies/temp files on SSD's is something that needs to done with caution. Am I right in this interpretation? I would be interested in further comments. Thanks N

Hi Mr T I feel I have now reached the end of my competence to deal further with your request for my computer Ccleaner dump file. I have looked into Microsoft Info but feel I could be led into making a setting error therefore I will not be proceeding any further with my request for a diagnosis of my Ccleaner Startup menu crash issue. I will keep my use of Ccleaner to my main purpose which I am quite happy with for clearing temporary files and cookies. Many thanks for your interest.

How do I create a dump file and when compiled is there another way for me to make it available to you other than a file sharing website for I am not sure what you mean by a file sharing website? Sorry for my obvious weakness with my computer knowledge although I do wish to proceed in resolving the startup menu crash issue by providing the dump file as requested.

Nergal I have compiled a list of all the add-ons shown in my computer IE9 (I could not find anyway for automatically producing this list, am I missing something?) Hi SlashEMc2k Thanks for your reply but I am having no luck entering the debug command prompt and as you might guess I have tried entering several times and now in various permutations. The only time I get a positive response is when entering just c:\Program Files\Ccleaner\Ccleaner.exe and Ccleaner program opens. With debug added the message comes up this command is not recognised. As you might also guess I am not a computer expert but am willing to learn. Unless I can get further more specific guidance on my methods for correctly entering the required command prompt I will have to give up on solving the Startup Tool issue. Hi Negal I entered c:\program files\ccleaner\ccleaner.exe into my command prompt window. The message came that this was not recognised as a command. Any idea what I have done wrong. I am pleased to see SlashEMc2k has added to my post and has attached a program log he has found. Thanks
