  1. Hi Everyone, Thanks for all of your feedback and suggestions on different default options. It is really great to get such valuable advice, and we are really grateful for your taking the time to do so. Based on your suggestions, we are planning to create different default options that can be accessed directly via an appropriate URL. This will take some time for our engineering team to put together, but we are considering having subdomains, such as http://web.yauba.com, or http://pdf.yauba.com from which you can search Internet sites or pdf files, etc. directly, without having to use the drop down menu. As you know, since we do not use cookies, we think this is the best way to meet your needs and wishes while still repecting your privacy. As for clustering, we do use some clustering technologies, part of which we use for our search refinement options (e.g. when you click on See More Internet Sites) and we plan to add a suggested search option as well on the main consolidated results pages. We are still experimenting with the user interface to see how best we can leverage these technologies without overwhelming the user. Please continue let us know your thoughts, and please do keep the suggestions coming! We are very thankful for your valuable advice in helping to shape this service. Also, please watch this space if you have and French speaking friends ... we will be launching a French language version of the Yauba beta release in the upcoming weeks. Thanks once again Sameer VP, Yauba
  2. Hi there, If you visit a third party site directly, you will be subject to their privacy policies. We do not control these. However, we do offer you the possibility of visiting a third party site through our privacy filter. If you see a webpage result, you will see a link that says "visit anonymously (slower)". By going through our privacy filter (and not directly), we block the third party website from getting your details. For the highest security we recommend configuring your browser not to accept any third party cookies altogether. Sameer VP, Yauba
  3. Thank you very much Dennis for the very warm welcome. We really appreciate all of your feedback. I do have some wonderful news. Since we do not track our user details, it is hard for us to do any detailed traffic analysis of our own. However, I just checked our Alexa numbers, and, just one week after our late alpha (early beta) launch, we have hit some really unexpected and high traffic milestones thanks to you and all of the other users who have been kind enough to try us out: As of yesterday, our main Indian site http://www.yauba.co.in was the 13,263th most visited site in the world! Also as of yesterday, our other, non Indian site http://www.yauba.com was the 26,322th most visited site in the world! This suggests that, taken together, we have already become a global top 10,000 site online just 1 week after our late alpha release. We are completely stunned and humbled by the reception the service has received, and we wanted to thank you and everyone once again for giving us a try. We know that it is not easy to give up long entrenched habits, and we realise that our service does indeed look and feel very different from other search engines. However, we firmly believe in our goal of offering a world class search alternative for the large number of Internet users who care deeply about privacy rights but who did not have a viable choice in the past. And we believe that the number of users in our first week of (essentially) our alpha test release serves as a testament to how important privacy issues are to Internet users everywhere. Please do continue to share with us your feedback and suggestions. Pretty much everything is open for consideration, experimentation, and change during our late alpha period, and we want to make sure we hear from you. We do take you feedback VERY seriously, and we endeavor to answer as much of them personally as possible. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN Sameer VP, Yauba
  4. Hello everyone! Sameer here from Yauba. Thank you so much for trying out our service. We really appreciate it, and it is very gratifying to read that people halfway around the world are finding our service useful. Thank you also to the Piriform team. We have CCleaner installed in ALL of our computers, and we think it is just terrific. Thanks for bringing this great service to the world for free. As you may know, we are still in our late alpha/early beta period with Yauba. As we are still experimenting with features and trying new things out, we would really appreciate your suggestions and feedback on how to make the service better. We know we still have a lot of work ahead of us, but we hope that with your help, we can together create something truly useful and distinctive for Internet users everywhere. Please feel free to email me directly at sam (|at|) yauba (|dot|) com. I will try to reply as promptly as I can! Or you can send us a direct message via twitter. Our twitter id is http://twitter.com/yauba. (As we send out many updates related to Internet privacy and data security in general, you may want to consider following us on twitter as well if you are interested in these important issues.) Thank you so much! Sameer Caan VP
