Thanks hazelnut - that was very helpful . Even so - may this be something which could be in a future version of CCleaner ?
-
Thanks hazelnut . I have Win 7 . Right click on Start gives me a choice of Properties or "Open Window Explorer" . At any rate , is there a setting to clear this in CCleaner ?
-

Can I suggest an option for Win Explorer to delete the Recent Places list . Clicking on "Recent Documents" in Windows Explorer entry does not do it . Maybe this appears somewhere else in CCleaner ? Thanks .
-
Thanks mta - that was really a help . I had nothing for Other Explorer MRUs - what sort of stuff is it ?
-
Thanks mta - if you say so - you would know . Can you just explain briefly what other things , the Recent Documents and Other Explorer MRUs options , cover ?
-
A good thing would be to clear the "Recent Places" entry that shows up in File Explorer . Or does this already exist somewhere ?
-
The following would be really helpful for me , and I imagine others too , if possible : 1. For the graphics board , to show what connectors are available . HDMI , DVI , etc. 2. For the USB , how many ports and what type . 3.0 , 2.0 , etc. If this is already possible , please tell me how to get it . Thanks .

CCleaner + Windows Log Files - Slow
aviwil replied to Sauerkraut22's topic in CCleaner Bug Reporting
Sauerkraut22 - thanks for the info on how to uninstall Media Player - sehr gut ! With this , it may be worth a try , to "reinstall" it back , as some of these things sometimes don't exactly work as they should . When Ccleaner is not running - try to delete or rename your Windows.log file - it let's you or not ? Have you switched AV's ( anti virus ) packages at all ? Ever ? -

Sauerkraut22 - OK . Windows.log = 0 KB should be no problem . It may be , that another program is already accessing this file , and CCleaner is waiting for it . Easiest way to check that , would be to boot in Safe Mode , and try CCleaner from there . If it works , then will need to see which program it is . I see from Hardware.pdf , that you have divided your HD into many logical disks . Are you separating multiple users here ? Did you , by any chance , assign some system stuff to one of the logicals ? Have you switched AV's ( anti virus ) packages at all ? How did you uninstall Windows Media Player ? As far as I know , you can't . -

Sauerkraut22 , if other programs are doing similar things - you could have some disk problems . Right click on your system disk icon , then Properties , then error-checking , click on both checking options . Some info on your hardware setup may be useful . -

Sauerkraut22 - you may have somehow got some access problems - try running Ccleaner in Administrator Mode ( right click on icon and choose that ) . -
MattinLA - what AV are you using ? If you boot into Safe Mode - do you get the same problem ?

ccleaner takes forever ever since i updated it.
aviwil replied to crashhat69's topic in CCleaner Bug Reporting
crashhat69 - if you can be 100% sure , that excluding yourself , then anyone with access to your PC , doesn't really have a clue about them , then no need to do secure deletion of the cache . However if any of those with possible access , is anywhere near really knowing their stuff , secure deletion of the cache , is virtually essential . -

crashhat69 , if you're serious about your system security , then the secure deletion is almost essential .
