  1. Sounds like a good ideal. And another one to go along with it which would most likely be a necessity is to wrap the listings because in the Cleaner Settings display as I have a few entries that run off and have to be side scrolled as per this example: Edit: Something like this would be nice:
  2. On Windows XP you can also get the .html re-registered in: Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Set Program Access and Defaults If you choose Internet Explorer you may then need to open Internet Explorer and: 1. Click Tools -> Internet Options -> Programs tab -> Enable: Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser 2. Click OK to save the setting, and then exit Internet Explorer. 3. Double click a .htm or .html file, or url shortcut that leads to a website and if prompted to make Internet Explorer the default browser select the appropriate option. The reason for going through this long procedure is because if .htm and .html files are not registered it will usually mean there's other problems such as .url website addresses not working when clicked, and various other browser related settings that can effect many different areas of the system.
  3. I've never tried it with /Auto with only the first letter capitalized, hence when you click Options the About screen has this listed: Command-line parameters: /AUTO - Runs the cleaner upon loading and then closes the application.
  4. And hopefully every get's a "clean" inspection. Nobody would want to be deemed "dirty" and have them to do the wiping!
  5. When I make an ERUNT backup I always select the option (manually tick): Other open users registries Why I do this, I don't know! However it may be needed to fully restore the registry. To restore the backup you just: 1. Click Start, Run, and browse to (today's backup as an example): C:\WINDOWS\ERDNT\01-25-2006\ERDNT.EXE 2. Reboot immediately when prompted.
  6. Audio CD burning only Burrrn: Can create audio CD's from already compressed audio files like .mp3, .ogg, and some formats you may have never heard about, even uncompressed .wav. I highly recommend Burrrn. You won't find any easier way to quickly burrrn an audio CD, and you won't have to go through any options/settings to do so since it's all on the easy-to-use main GUI window. Whatsmore Burrrn automatically creates gapless audio CD's without 2 second gaps which is extremely useful because you'll never forget to enable such an option. Note: Burrrn only creates audio CD's! _________________________ Data CD burning/and audio CD burning Burnatonce: Can do data, however you'll need to download ProDVD do burn DVD's with it. It can also do audio CD's like Burrrn however there's more steps in the creation of an audio CD using Burnatonce, and you have to manually enable the option to create gapless audio CD's without 2 second gaps. DeepBurner Free: The audio CD's it creates won't be gapless even if enabling the option for your burner drive, I tested it's ability to create a gapless CD and it doesn't work it will instead place 1.70 second gaps inbetween the tracks instead of the standard 2 second gaps. With that being said it could have been something to do with my system and the writer drive I used. It's ability to create data CD's is however very good, and it's what I use on my old Win98 system to create backup CD-RW's with. CDBurnerXP Pro: I found it to be a bit bloated when compared to Burnatonce and DeepBurner, however so as to not sound bias I'll let someone who actually uses it commit on it.
  7. Because it's retarded! If it's a configurable firewall you could create an allowed application rule that will permit CCleaner to check for updates.
  8. You have to be very careful using allot of registry cleaners because they'll actually find valid registry data.
  9. I could be wrong, however my guess is it's a limitation of the theme you're using. You could confirm if it is by switching back to a Microsoft theme supplied with the OS to see if the problem really is with the third-party theme or if it isn't.
  10. The ERUNT link is correct, it goes to the main page that shows all available downloads, etc. Here's the ERUNT & NTREGOPT homepage all by themselves: http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/index.htm Do not use the duplicate files finder in EasyCleaner - it's the only dangerous part of EasyCleaner that should be avoided.
  11. Thanks for the info! I had went into my settings not to long ago and never noticed it. hopefully that solves my problem.
  12. A couple of other people over the past few months have had that problem, and they were using the same theme you were. It's either that particular theme or the font it's using that is causing the problem with the buttons.
  13. To avoid problems that registry cleaners can and may cause just make a registry backup using ERUNT beforehand. I've seen on more than one occasion when the undo backups created by registry cleaning programs don't actually fix anything!
  14. I've finally become fully annoyed with the behavior of how the PM window works with the new version of the IPB forum software, if some people don't know what I'm talking about it will look like the image below. It won't be moveable, closeable, etc., until the message is at least read which is utterly annoying as hell if you're about to post a reply in a thread. I'm just so damned annoyed by it that I'm finally asking is there a way to disable it so that PM's work as they did in the previous versions of IPB, without completely disabling PM's?
  15. Go to IBM's website here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/homeLenovo.do You need to input info such as the exact ThinkPad you own, etc in order to download drivers and software.
  16. I remember allot of fun songs from the 80's. If anyone wants to listen to some weird metal with a sort of comic relief and allot of bass guitar that will have your feet tapping and head going side to side ("bobble head syndrome") listen to some Primus, their song 'Tommy The Cat' from the 1991 CD 'Sailing The Seas Of Cheese' and 'Hamburger Train' from the 1993 CD 'Pork Soda' instantly comes to mind as some funky groovy s**t.
  17. You should feel lucky as there's some system utilities that will revert to C:\ itself if the global Temp folder isn't found, and we know what that details - any file not in-use or locked would get deleted on drive C:\.
  18. Yup. For me though it's mostly the Final Fantasy soundtracks which in reality could fit right inside a huge budget movie. Like I said it's difficult for me not to like it being I've always had a gaming console since the first Atari I had (it's been so long I don't even remember the name of that Atari console) however I do remember when I got a Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1985 and played the hell of Namco's Pacman (em ghosts are tasty). Too bad Ms Pacman was fat, which could explain why Pacman had a thing for eating ghosts.
  19. I started liking black metal and death metal purely for the guitar's and the overall melody, and let's be frank it may be in a genre called "metal" however in reality it's just heavy rock music. A misconception is that it's "all" about death, torture, satanism (thank braindead shitheads like the PRMC for spreading infested bulls**t), when in fact there's some very heavy bands that you'll never see/hear associated with such. Most of the bands I like do have a good melody, e.g.; there's still some heavy rockers that have some rhythm, most of the stuff I listen to have a sound you could at least tap your feet to while listening to it - it isn't all just random noise and guttural vocals. I've personally recorded 7 black metal and death metal demos and albums with some area bands in the past years, and thankfully they've all been good musicians with a past in other areas such as classical, classical rock, etc. I've did one all on my own which is more-or-less a random mixture of hard rock, black metal, death metal, with a twist of neo classical (listen to some of Yngwie Malmsteen for a reference of neo classical). As for things being heavy, no I can't stand non-stop heaviness all the time, hence I throw on some 80's Deep Purple, GNR (which happened to be some heavy s**t back in the day), Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, and the opera-like metal sound of SavaTage and Candlemass. Let the truth be known my music tastes are completely stuck and deeply rutted in the years 1980's to 1990's, the only current music I like are from bands that were around at the least by the late 1990's, current year 2000 and above "metal" bands (wouldn't really call them metal bands anymore) aren't that appealing unless they have that "old school" sound. I like my music like I like Ferrari's from the 80's and 90's, at least the old stuff I continue listening to doesn't have the damned DRM on the discs.
  20. That's the only way I know of to make blocked site's compatibly with multiple programs since I input them into CookieCop, Mozilla Suite, and the HOSTS file and wouldn't you know it they all have a different format of how sites are entered. It would be nice if all web browsers could at least read the HOSTS file to import it's blocked list to take out all the manual copying and pasting which takes for ever when there's thousands of entries. At least you're not trying to do it with Internet Explorer, hence you'd be copying each site into the Restricted Cookies/Sites one by one for several days/weeks/months.
  21. If you have this enabled, disable it under: Cleaner->Windows tab->Advanced Options->Window Size/Location Cache ...or it may be this one: Cleaner->Windows tab->Advanced Options->Menu Order Cache
  22. I don't know why it does that, however you can manually size the open window (not maximize), and then position it to fit your screen.
  23. I'm not sure if this will work or not, however it's worth a try: Input the actual file path, e.g.; if regshot.exe is in C:\WINDOWS input into the .reg file this: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Regshot][HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Regshot\command]@="%windir%\regshot.exe" If that doesn't work perhaps this: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Regshot][HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Regshot\command]@="c:\windows\regshot.exe" If it works, you should be able to move those files into a proper programs files location, and use the path %programfiles% so that the .exe can be found, or just leave them in C:\WINDOWS
  24. If I'm understanding correctly you wish to convert your HOSTS file into a Mozilla/Mozilla Firefox block list. This is what I do: 1. Open three text editor Windows, e.g.; open Notepad three times. 2. Open the HOSTS file in one Notepad window. 3. Copy all the HOSTS file entries and paste them into the second Notepad window. 4. Copy all the HOSTS file entries and paste them into the third Notepad window. 5. Close the HOSTS window, leaving the other two Notepad windows open ------------- Changing the format string to work with Mozilla/Mozilla Firefox Converting the HOSTS format into the blocked Mozilla/Mozilla Firefox cookies format: 1. Open your userprofile\Application Data folder that contains the Mozilla Firefox folder. Find this file: hostperm.1 2. Open hostperm.1 with Notepad. 3. Highlight the HOSTS format string in one of the two open Notepad windows which is either 127.0.0.1 or 0.0.0.0 and replace all using the file menu tool Edit>Replace>Replace All it with this: host cookie 2 leave this Notepad window open. 4. Go to the other Notepad window and highlight the HOSTS format string in one of the two open Notepad windows which is either 127.0.0.1 or 0.0.0.0 and replace all using the file menu tool Edit>Replace>Replace All it with this: host image 2 5. Copy one of the Notepad window contents into the other Notepad window to combine all the entries. Now copy those entries into the Mozilla/Mozilla Firefox hostperm.1 file and save the file. 6. Open and then close Mozilla Firefox so that it can automatically sort the list. 7. You may want to confirm the settings by looking at the block site/cookie list in Mozilla Firefox. Remember to backup the hostperm.1 file! Example:
