  1. HJT was designed to remove malware, it cant spot let alone remove even basic infections in this day and age
  2. HJT is useless now, the very few changes that were fixed are small bug issues Typical Trend Micro, they talk a lot but don't actually back it up
  3. As far as I know that is not the case. It doesn't matter what browser you use, if you get targeted by malware, the aim of TeaTimer and SpywareGuard is to prevent changes made to the registry. This is not browser dependent.
  4. MikeW What I was referring to is the fact that SpywareGuard isn't dependent on you using Internet Explorer for it to be effective protection. One of its features is that it has an extra protection layer that works with IE, but it can stop malware no matter what browser you use
  5. These programs don't need updates, reason above SpywareGuard has nothing to do with what browser you use either
  6. I've said it before and I will say it again, install and run a beta AV at your own peril. You have been warned MSE is looking very nice, am going to be recommending it myself in the future
  7. I would have some form of real-time protection running on your PC, whether that is from your anti-virus or MBAM. I personally recommend users run SpywareGuard or TeaTimer, they are by far the best real-time protection you can get, and free, and far less of a resource hog than using an anti-virus for real-time protection. Generally you only want one form of real-time protection running on a machine, more than one can cause issues, even if its from an anti-virus and an anti-spyware program. This is one area where more is definitely not better. Hope that helps a bit
  8. We use MD5 checking in malware removal, is very helpful in that regard
  9. A full scan is not needed with MBAM as per the post above With other scanners though, I would use a full scan as they are not as good as MBAM
  10. You don't need all 3 MBAM by itself is enough, its that good. SAS is decent but its not going to find anything that MBAM misses generally Spybot is to outdated to be effective against malware these days.
  11. If your applications were running from a temp folder then they would be removed. Otherwise, there must be something else responsible
  12. This is extremely unlikely related to TFC I will forward it to the developer though just in case, and see if he has any idea
  13. You will be dealing with me soon, so maybe not so nice after all Congrats, keep up the good work
  14. Congrats mate Bet you are feeling your age now
  15. Knowing how smart the MBAM guys are, am quite positive they did everything possible to stop people stealing the definitions in their database. Simple fact is, there are ways around everything if you are smart enough and try long enough.
  16. try this Download TFC to your desktop Open the file and close any other windows. It will close all programs itself when run, make sure to let it run uninterrupted. Click the Start button to begin the process. The program should not take long to finish its job Once its finished it should reboot your machine, if not, do this yourself to ensure a complete clean
  17. SpywareGuard definitely should be used and is still of use. It is like Spybot's TeaTimer. A very effective program it is
  18. No, I used Keyscrambler a long time ago Its not something needed unless you are doing potentially serious/sensitive stuff online, then I would use it. Otherwise there really is no point.
  19. Didn't feel it was needed really.
  20. keyscrambler is very good and light on resources. I used to use it
  21. Has already been answered before, twice now. I suggest you actually read the replies rburrhead rather than keep making new topics http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=24257&hl= http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=24597&hl=

  23. try this Download and install Revo Uninstaller Double click the Revo Uninstaller icon on your desktop to start the program Scroll through the listed programs and Right Click on the program you wish to uninstall From the pop out menu choose Uninstall Click Yes to the confirmation dialogue In the next window select the Advanced mode Click Next to start uninstalling the program Answer Yes to confirm the uninstall When the program has completed the four steps, click Next to allow the program to search for leftovers Once complete, click Next, then Finish Repeat the above steps for any other programs you wish to remove.
  24. You definitely need to make a topic in Spyware Hell, this sounds like a rootkit to me Try naming the tools to svchost.com, they should work then. If not, make a topic in Spyware Hell
