  1. Thanks for your reply... so Outpost IS good then.. i see... I understand about the rest.. and a need to buy, etc most of it... But that aside, you think if using Ad-Aware ... and CCleaner.. good antivirus program.. and few others - SpyBlaster .. SpySearch and Destroy, etc.. and having my computer pretty clean as it is now.. - you think this Webroot SpySweeper will do anything for me.. (after ad-aware, etc cleaned the computer already) .. or it will not find much at all .. if anything?
  2. Not a Freeware .. but still.. just wondering if anyone tried any of those software(s)? And / or what you know or think about it: Webroot's SpySweeper: http://www.webroot.com ( you can click on Products there to see them in detail.. and this SpySweeper among them ) I read some reviews that some rate this SpySweeper pretty high... (Webroot also makes that Window Washer program i think) Winpatrol: http://www.winpatrol.com ( their website's info sure looks impressive ) Agnitum's Outpost Firewall PRO: http://www.agnitum.com/products/outpost/ Anyone knows of this Firewall? (Some say it's very good....) How about some Spyware Doctor .. by PC Tools: http://www.pctools.com (they say about themselves there: "Spyware Doctor receives Tucows People?s Choice Award for "Most Votes"!" ... hehe) Anyone tried, using .. or familiar with any of above mentioned? Thanks
  3. just to pinpoint again: The file name is ifshlp.sys (not ifshelp.sys)
  4. Well, Personally i am a newbie.. lamer, etc - hehe But running the CCleaner now for several days... Have Windows ME here.. So i just went to Windows directory and checked for those files (through Windows Explorer though.. not through MSDOS prompt.. - the results are: C:\windows\hihem.sys -------> well.. i don't have hihem.sys BUT DO have himem.sys C:\windows\dblbuff.sys -------> well... i DO have this one C:\windows\ifshelp.sys -------> well ... i don't have ifshelp.sys BUT DO have ifshlp.sys
  5. Also.. When i will go back to High Speed Cable (in pretty near Future) ..after this High Speed DSL, will that LAN activity in Windows (mentioned above) have the potential for spinning my hard drives back up while they are sleeping (while still being connected to internet with that High Speed Cable)?

  8. In Power Option Properties one of those 2 disconnects my DSL connection (when i am gone from PC for some time duration.. and not using computer) If i don't want my DSL connection to drop - which one of those 2 options: "Turn off Hard Disks" or "System Stand-by" should i have as "Never" choice?
