  1. - Can anyone recommend a program that is able to play an animated GIF file outside a webbrowser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) ?

    - From time to time there're some VERY nice animated GIFs pictures. I tried IRFAN but there the GIFs sometimes are played (way) too fast.

  2. - There's another thing that's "bugging" me. When I order DF to do a "Defrag Freespace" with a lot of folders added to the "Exclude" list then DF fails to do its job properly. By using this option DF will move selected folders\files to the beginning of the drive.

But when I let DF re-analyze that drive then it becomes clear DF didn't move every file (that should have been moved) towards the beginning of the drive.

    - I use this option (Defrag Freespace") to move files located in a number of systemfolders ("C:\windows", "C:\users", "C:\Program Files", etc.) to the beginning of the drive. All other files are moved to the end of the drive. Keeping my HD organized this way, has kept my system running surprisingly smoothly, in spite of having my HD filled with a lot of files (only 17% free space).

    - I would love to see that the folks at Piriform would issue a new version of Defraggler. I am looking forward to a new improved version of DF.

  3. - The latest changes in the program code of versions v4.xx require that I must update post #163. To make sure that running Windows Repair doesn't "break" VSS on a Vista system the user needs to take the following into account. If the user selects repair #4 then the user also needs to run repair #18 (was repair #19).

    - Didn't have the time (yet) to go through the program code to see whether or not this unwanted behaviour (breaking VSS on a Vista system) has been fixed in v4.xx.

  4. - Tweaking's  Windows Repair version v4.02 has been released. It seems version v4.00 still had some problems that forced the author to reverse some code changes.

    - Feedback, suggestions, bugreports etc. are still VERY welcome. Post them on the forum of Tweaking.com.

  5. - Tweaking's Windows Repair has advanced to a new version (Version 4). The latest build is version v4.0.1.

    - The basic features are still available for free.

    - Those who have bought the version 3 PRO program can still access those PRO 3 features in version 4. For the extra PRO features in version 4 one needs to buy a new license key.

  6. - Agree. The smartphone platform targeted is indeed missing.

    - The worrysome thing is that this exploit has been used for a "nefarious" purpose.

    - The entire story (keyword: exploit) makes it clear that one SHOULD regularly patch up one's smartphone/computer(-system).

  7. - The sub-routines used for displaying the filemap also need to be improved. I know that on some places on my HD file(s) is/are located/placed. But in spite of hitting "Analyze" multiple times DF simply fails to let those files show up in the filemap. Even restarting the program won't fix this problem.

    - DF also still thinks that in some places/locations files are located but when I move the (mouse-) to such a place then DF reports "No files found" (or something similar). And even restarting the program won't fix this problem either.

    - Seems that filemap info is located somewhere in memory on on the HD and DF fails to erase that info. Perhaps DF has an "internal" variable that tells DF what the current state is of the filemap. Or perhaps DF overlooks certain categories of files.

    - Perhaps DF needs an extra option/switch that will tell DF whether or not to (fully) re-examine/analyze the drive, with a new fresh re-building up of the filemap.

  8. - Didn't install it yet. Although I have downloaded the Stand-Alone version for Windows 7 and the appropriate language package.

    - Whenever possible I always download the individual update installation files. It allows me to install Win 7 without going out on the internet (think: viruses and other malware).
