    Ad-Aware 2007

Thanks guys. All sorted now. Cheers.

    Ad-Aware 2007

Thanks Mike. But unless I'm being very stupid (which is more than possible, admitedly), that doesn't tell me why the icon appears in my system tray. (I'm a free-version user.) It simply tells me that it shouldn't be there - but it is there.

    Ad-Aware 2007

The Ad-Aware icon appears in the system tray when I turn on my laptop. This has only just started happening - does it need to be there? I have been into msconfig and unchecked the box in the start-up programs list, but when I then reboot it reappears in the list and the icon reappears in the system tray. Does anyone know why?
  4. I have Media Player Classic installed. Does that mean I can delete Windows Media Player from my system?

    MS DOS 6.2

And is a dual boot arrangement easy to set up?

    MS DOS 6.2

Just tried that, but get the same error message. I'm guessing I've hit a brick wall here - or is there any way of downloading another program that is similar to MS DOS?

    MS DOS 6.2

Yep - that's exactly when it happens.

    MS DOS 6.2

Actually, that doesn't look right - shouldn't the screen shot have appeared there?

    MS DOS 6.2

Thanks, fieryone. Here it is - let me know if you want me to send screenshots of any of the sub-folders. <a href="http://img521.imageshack.us/my.php?image=image1rz0.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/9948/image1rz0.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

    MS DOS 6.2

Don't laugh, but I don't know how to do screenshots. But tell me what to do, and I'll post one!

    MS DOS 6.2

Andavari - I see what you mean now. Anyway, I right-clicked and went into Explore, and a whole load of icons appeared. But none of them would work when I tried to click them - and again, I got told to install MS DOS. BrownSugar - This is what I have downloaded: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en Perhaps that's why I'm having problems - maybe what I thought was DOS isn't DOS.

    MS DOS 6.2

Hi guys, and thanks for your help so far. I know I sound like a complete idiot, but I'm lost here. I don't quite understand what I'm looking for. Andavari - I've right-clicked and it opens up a load of icons, but I'm not sure what I need to do with them. CeeCee - Thanks for the screenshot, but I'm not clear what I need to be doing. Please bear with me here! I thought that by downloading MS DOS, I could simply run a CD that worked fine aon my old computer a decade ago! I don't quite know where sub-folders and file names come into this.

    MS DOS 6.2

CeeCee - if I double click the CD drive, it just tries to start the installation of the features . . . and then says I need MS DOS. Hi Andavari - it's a music CD that contains some interactive features, calling itself a "CD Extra". It's been some years since I accessed the interactive stuff on an old PC, but I seem to remember it contained things such as being able to make your own mixes of some of the songs etc.

    MS DOS 6.2

I don't understand what you mean by changing drive. The way to run the program is to insert the CD, and then it should run automatically. But it just keeps saying I need to install MS DOS 6.2, even though I already have. I don't know what the program is called so I don't know what to type.

    MS DOS 6.2

Hi CeeCee I'm a bit confused. The program I want to run is on the CD.

    MS DOS 6.2

I am trying to access special computer features that are on a music CD that was released in 1997. I got a message saying I needed to install MS DOS 6.2, so I visited the Microsoft Downloads website and downloaded it. It seemed to go OK, and I've now got a load of new icons on my desktop. But when I tried to launch the software on the CD, I again got a message that I needed to install DOS 6.2 or higher. Any ideas?

    auto-complete

Hi, and thanks for your help. Yes - I have tried that but it still doesn't wipe the auto-complete from my Medion homepage. I'm using the latest Internet Explorer, BTW.

    auto-complete

Hi - thanks for the advice. However, I tried it but it hasn't helped. Any other ideas?

    auto-complete

I used to have MSN Messenger installed, but I have now removed it. However, despite running CCleaner and also manually deleting auto-complete history, when I try to log into my Medion router homepage, the drop-down menu includes auto-complete options for the two e-mail addresses I used to use for MSN Messenger. (Even though these addresses were never used for my Medion router page.) Are there some auto-complete details that are not deleted by CCleaner, and is there any way to delete them entirely?

    msconfig

That's brilliant. It works perfectly. Thanks!

    msconfig

In System Configuration in the Startup tab, there are a number of applications that I can have run at startup. But the list includes some entries for programs that are no longer on my computer. This doesn't particularly bother me, but how do I get rid of them from this list?

    eMule

Yep - I uninstalled eMule and reinstalled it via the link you sent. My router is a Medion MDWLAN 140

    eMule

Hi - thanks for your help. It's much appreciated. I've downloaded eMule and I've got a router. But when you start talking about "static IPs", that's when I get lost. I'm not sure what that means.
