  1.  I frequently use CCleaner to remove cookies.  Very often two or three of them are still present after cleaning and I have to right click and remove them myself.

Two of them are from Bing, I forget the other one.

What, if anything, can I do to ensure they are removed by Cleaner?

  2. Thank  you DennisD

There is nothing related to it in the task scheduler.  Don't know what to think now.

    Andavari,

Yes I've experienced infuriatingly undisciplined software too.

I had elected to follow this thread but it didn't happen.

Edit:  I had another look in task scheduler and found it under a confusing name.  I've disabled it.

Edit 2:  It still started.  I then deleted the task from the scheduler but the damned thing still starts.  I will ask Ashampoo to see if they can help.

Solved:  It's not CCleaner's fault, neither is it task scheduler's.  I'm embarassed to say that it's mine.

I had missed the fact that there is a checked box which lets it start at boot.

  3. I have CCleaner v5.05.5176 (64-bit), running in Windows 8.1. 64-bit.

The Cookies on Computer window shows that 4 cookies are never deleted.  They are:  launch.newsinc.comlocallocalhost,  and s.ytimg.com

I have noticed this over the last several version of CCleaner.

Why are they not being deleted?

  4. Piriform imforms me that the latest version is 4.18.4844.  On following the links to download it I am taken to FileHippo, which states that the latest version is 4.18.4842

Doesn't Piriform have its own site from which downloads may be obtained?

And when will FileHippo catch up?
