  1. I've installed an older version. That's got rid of the intrusions.
  2. Ok, thank you. I'll take a look at file hippo.
  3. That's all very well, but earlier versions didn't intrude at all. I am going to have to test previous versions from oldversion.com.
  4. Any/all of them which CCleaner puts in the bottom right of my browser.
  5. I find them extremely annoying and totally unnecessary. Can I get rid of them, or do I have to revert to a previous edition?
  6. I frequently use CCleaner to remove cookies. Very often two or three of them are still present after cleaning and I have to right click and remove them myself. Two of them are from Bing, I forget the other one. What, if anything, can I do to ensure they are removed by Cleaner?
  7. Both Edge and IE are skipped when I run the cleaner. I don't really care about Edge since I don't use it, but it should scanned anyway. I use IE a bit and would like it scanned. What am I missing?
  8. Both Edge and IE are skipped when I run the cleaner. I don't really care about Edge since I don't use it, but it should scanned anyway. I use IE a bit and would like it scanned. What am I missing?
  9. As I have not received a solution to my original post "Active Monitoring unchecked but still runs" dated 24th June, I wonder if anyone else can help me, or suggest a good alternative to CCleaner?
  10. The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. CCleaner build is v5.31.6105. I am using the free version. Yes. After unticking both boxes I answer yes.
  11. Every time I open CCleaner, Active Monitoring is checked again. I don't want it to run. How can I overcome this annoying problem?
  12. Thank you DennisD, There is nothing related to it in the task scheduler. Don't know what to think now. Andavari, Yes I've experienced infuriatingly undisciplined software too. I had elected to follow this thread but it didn't happen. Edit: I had another look in task scheduler and found it under a confusing name. I've disabled it. Edit 2: It still started. I then deleted the task from the scheduler but the damned thing still starts. I will ask Ashampoo to see if they can help. Solved: It's not CCleaner's fault, neither is it task scheduler's. I'm embarassed to say that it's mine. I had missed the fact that there is a checked box which lets it start at boot.
  13. I have Ashampoo's Uninstaller 6 installed, and have it disabled in CCleaner, but it always starts when the system (Windows 10) starts. Is this a CCleaner fault or something else?
  14. I have CCleaner v5.05.5176 (64-bit), running in Windows 8.1. 64-bit. The Cookies on Computer window shows that 4 cookies are never deleted. They are: launch.newsinc.com, local, localhost, and s.ytimg.com. I have noticed this over the last several version of CCleaner. Why are they not being deleted?
  15. Piriform imforms me that the latest version is 4.18.4844. On following the links to download it I am taken to FileHippo, which states that the latest version is 4.18.4842 Doesn't Piriform have its own site from which downloads may be obtained? And when will FileHippo catch up?
  16. Thank you Nergal. No. Never heard of it until you mentioned it. No. I wasn't aware of them either. I wonder what I'm missing. Anything useful?
  17. My user names and passwords for some sites are being deleted. Are there any settings in CCleaner which might be doing this? Thank you.
  18. I'm using the latest version of CCleaner, and IE8, running in XP Home. It used to work correctly.
  19. Thank you davey, they were Firefox cookies, I hadn't checked the corresponding box.
  20. I am using version 2.07.575 After running the cleaner with the cookies box checked I am still left with a couple of dozen of them still listed in the "Cookies to Delete" window. Why?
