  12. http://windowsitpro.com/article/articleid/...ation-hoax.html January 2004 The Memory-Optimization Hoax RAM optimizers make false promises From the January 2004 Edition of Windows IT Pro Mark Russinovich Internals InstantDoc #41095 Windows IT Pro I agree with your comments on the Memory Management process. What I recommend to enhance your Windows experience is to de-activate any useless "Startup program" or "Service". Good links to find more on these points are: == 12 Tweaks for performance (+ help to disable services) http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/supertweaks.htm == Utility to disable Startup Applications http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/autoruns.shtml == List of Startup Applications http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm And, if you need a RAM Optimizer (because you run Windows 95/98/ME), you can use this little one. It has a very small memory footprint. http://www.jfitz.com/software/RAMpage/

  15. http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2008/05/01/spam_30/ 30 years of Spam - and we ain't finished yet Spam celebrates its 30th birthday on Saturday (3 May). On that day in 1978, 393 Arpanet subscribers were sent what's reckoned to be the first ever spam email1 in history (the message itself was written on 1 May 1978). In January 2004, Bill Gates predicted that spam email would be eradicated as a problem within 24 months. Gates outlined a three-stage plan to eradicate spam within two years
  16. http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/new...edition-delayed MICROSOFT has pulled the plug on the expected release of Windows XP Service Pack 3 because of a glitch DON'T EVEN DOWNLOAD SP3 ----------------------- http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/new...here-to-get-off Vista, he said, won't make much difference to the webscape. While it is more secure than XP, there are, currently, few third-party companies producing protection for Vista. XP may be leakier but there are at least lots of companies trying to plug its holes. Don't do it. you can test it for me & let me know if test ok not like to be the crash test & crash my P.C. & I think it come with spyware. 22. http://internetducttape.com/2006/12/02/how...k-firefox-hack/ How to fix the Firefox memory leak # Known Leaky Extensions * Fixed * Not Fixed Things That are Not Leaks Firefox Memory Usage Doesn't Always Go Down This is generally not an issue, and does not represent a memory leak. Why? When Firefox is finished with memory, it releases it to its heap. However, operating system reports this memory as being in use, even though Firefox is not using it for anything. A common symptom of this is the amount of memory used by Firefox going up, but not coming down - instead staying constant. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/02/26/firefox_update/ http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/faqs/memusage.html http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows/fix...eak-on-windows/ http://lifehacker.com/software/firefox/dea...sues-171301.php http://www.firefoxfacts.com/2007/12/10/fix...emory-problems/ http://www.zolved.com/synapse/view_content...sage_on_Firefox http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/ben/archives/009749.html
