  1. Good job on writing such a long post on a program that is not made for Windows... now, tell me again how you've proven zRam doesn't work?
  2. The way Windows and Linux manage RAM is completely different; thus comparing this program with Windows doesn't work, as this program is not intended for Windows. It's for Linux. I've installed it on my computer, and I can personally say that it has caused no problems. No offense, but it seems as if your logic is a bit incorrect. http://code.google.com/p/compcache/
  3. Let them cry; there are thousands of other people loyal to Piriform's brilliant products. It's rather annoying to see people act so spoiled.
  4. How the heck is that possible? O.O There must've been some other factors...
  5. Ah yes, I know what you're talking about. I can't stand screens so small, even my laptop has a 17 inch screen, so it's basically a portable desktop.
  6. http://www.webupd8.org/2011/10/increased-performance-in-linux-with.html I've installed it on my comp, but I haven't really noticed a difference mainly because I have more RAM, but for those of you using <2 GB of ram, this should definitely make your computer faster (if you're using Linux that is). Based on the comments I've been reading in the article, it's gotten an extremely positive reaction, with the program making drastic speed differences in quite a few computers.
  7. I second that. All of this white burns my eyes. O.O
  8. The default Ambience theme already looks so good that I haven't bothered to change anything besides my background.
  9. Glad you got it fixed Dennis. Computers can really annoy you sometimes; when I was reinstalling my computer with Ubuntu 11.10 a few days ago, I went downstairs to get a drink and such for a few minutes, and let the installation continue. Came back up to check the status of the installation and found that the screen had gone black due to inactivity (kind of like a screensaver I suppose). I thought nothing of it and moved the mouse around a bit until the screen came up again and guess what... just being gone for a few minutes and sending the screen into hibernation had messed up my install and given me a corrupt CD error. Then of course I had no OS to boot into, and long story short, I had to reinstall a second time.
  10. Speaking of Firefox, anyone tried the latest Aurora build besides me? Using version 9.0a2 right now, and holy crap it's fast.
  11. Very much so, I'm surprised by the fact that the news barely even mentioned his death, considering the fact that without him, there probably wouldn't have been an Apple.
  12. Just putting it out there for anyone else who's interested. Downloaded it and re-installed my computer right after I got home, and it's working brilliantly. No errors, haven't had to run around looking for drivers, everything works out of the box.
  13. Icedrake

    Cat says NO!

I literally can't stop laughing, and I laugh too much already. >.<
  14. Hey guys, it's been a while. Anyways, my current desktop: Yep, using Ubuntu now.
  15. Who needs a boat these days. Do some heavy duty work, then drive into a lake.
  16. Let's all try Isle of Tune while that one is down.
  17. None of these are meant to be offensive, just funny as heck. Pretty much all of them make no sense whatsoever, but who cares.
  18. That guy has some serious talent.
  19. If you want to try an even cooler music doo-dad, check out Isle of Tune. You make the music by making a little town/city/whatever you want with the given tools. The things that people have made using this is pretty amazing.
  20. Let me be the first to welcome you to this wonderful forum filled with great people.
  21. I searched long and hard for a pear, only to realise that there is no pear.
