Apparently this is the Business edition being offered. There is no difference between this and the free edition, apart from the $24.95 of course. The business edition comes with support, that's the only difference.
  2. Having had a look at complaints like this http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums...essage.id=49678 and many other forums , I would ask ( no, demand) Gateway send you a replacement drive. As far as I can see there is no firmware update for this Philips DVD-RW drive
  3. Just wondered if anyone had used this software, notice it automatically backs up first. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Registry-Tweak/Baku.shtml apparently portable and stores no settings in registry
  4. What about here http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/th...p?page=download
  5. If safe mode doesn't work you could always try the Windows Installer Cleanup http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;en-us;290301#
  6. Hello Plankeye and welcome to the forum Could you tell us what operating system you have, XP? Now what are the programs you are trying to uninstall? When you go start> programs, are they listed there? Is the uninstaller listed there? If you go into c drive and then programs files and open the particular program you want to uninstall, is there an uninstaller listed there? Have you tried uninstalling them in safe mode?
  7. I think so too. Look how opera shines!!
  8. Having read all of the comments down the page, vista is a problem. (when is it not with software) One or two comments about not being able to make it work, especially one guy who wanted to know why it wouldn't work on his phone This is a new developer, making something really nice and who seems to be listening to suggestions on how to make it look even better.
  9. Bit of a change. View the online version via link on page to see it first before you download. http://blog.pixelbreaker.com/flash/polar-clock-v2/
  10. Hope he wasn't wearing a kilt when he stood on his head to read it.
  11. Login, you've been reading dictionaries again haven't you?
  12. The gentleman you refer to, Andavari, is a very valuble member of this forum who provides many with great advice. The way you ask for help may be partly responsible for the lack of replies in your original recuva thread. "As the topic in hand seemed well in hand and I did actually provide 2 solid leads towards ending the issue..." This post was weeks old when you answered it.
  13. Here are the next round of updates to be released next Tuesday http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/ms07-jul.mspx
  14. Great word For those unsure of the meaning http://www.answers.com/topic/penurious
  15. Digit, your post in the link above is for the recuva beta software. This part of the forum here is not really for Recuva problems or questions.
  16. Are you using XP or vista? If xp try here, http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=8588 If vista, try right clicking on CCleaner desktop icon and choosing run as admin.
  17. Didn't realise it had been around for this long Humpty. It look as though it may have moved on a bit since you tested it.
  18. Came across this today, they seem to have an active forum for it as well. Anyone know much about it? http://www.mojopac.com/portal/content/what/
  19. Don't know how many of you have noticed the little icon but Andy Manchesta, one of ccleaners spyware moderators, has recently been awarded the MVP status in windows security. Andy goes out of his way to help people with spyware problems and even writes programs to kill the spyware, his latest being SDFix. Many on this forum have benefited from his calm, clearly worded approach and expertise. I would like to to offer my congratulations. What is an MVP? http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/gp/mvpfaqs

  21. Was there a reason why you had to reinstall? What exactly do you mean in the quote above, have you changed the default for the program install? Do you just use IE6 for the internet, and your settings for it haven't changed ? A late welcome to the forum by the way
  22. This is for you then TM
  23. All I can suggest at the moment is making sure you have full permissions for the account you are running. Until dial a fix can be run with vista, I am not too sure about any other quick fix. You could however try right-clicking the CCleaner icon on the desktop and choosing run as administrator.
  24. Have a read of this yr3750 until a Vista user comes along who may have an answer that worked for them http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forums/index.cf...&forumid=23
