  1. Have a look here Beatlebryce to see if anything here can help. If not, I can recommend the system restore forum mentioned, they are very good, I have used it myself when needing to reinstall system restore for someone. http://bertk.mvps.org/html/srfail.html
  2. Dennis you are so lucky to be chosen like this P.S. I need 2 million pounds to repair my little garden fence, do you think you could see your way clear to lending/giving me the money? I will of course pay it back.
  3. The full commercial version of Paragon Partition Manager 8.5 Personal can be obtained here free until September 14th http://www.computeractive.co.uk/partitionmanager/index Details of all the things it can do, can be seen here http://www.partition-manager.com/home/personal/
  4. Have a read through the beginners guide here, then if you have any more questions, just ask http://www.internetrotsyourbrain.com/ccleanerbeginnersguide/
  5. I really hope I never get this error message! http://support.microsoft.com/kb/276304?
  6. Can you use system restore to go back to before your problems began? Also run your virus and malware scans just to be on the safe side.

As people have said Jago don't worry, the stars in the sky are much more important than the ones on the forum And I don't recall you being mean to anyone. And anyone who is REALLY mean to another forum member should remember these http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?act=an...p;f=5&id=15
  8. It's perhaps best to leave anything in the advanced section unticked unless you are sure of what you are doing. Welcome to the forum by the way
  9. Have you checked in c/windows/system32 to see that services.msc is still there? Could the file associations be a bit mixed up? If so there is a reg fix for .msc files here. http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
  10. There is a help guide here http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=8563
  11. Anthony, as Dennis said, you are now top of the class
  12. I suppose MrG thought it would help pay for the work and upkeep of this FREE software he kindly provides us with.
  13. If you right click on your start button and choose properties start menu, customise you may be able to see if some options have been changed in there, eg how many are listed in the number of start menu items under the general tab. In the advanced ( be careful, and remember what you do) does anything look obvious? Also have a read here http://windowsxp.mvps.org/startmfu.htm
  14. It is unrealistic to expect a slim build of a beta to be made just for you Perhaps you have a friend who could download the installer for you and tranfer it via a thumb drive
  15. I am afraid that the beta link is what you get, a beta, no slim build. Don't worry about the yahoo toolbar even though in the EULA you have to agree to it, because after you agree and click next, you are asked if you want to install it or not.
  16. Before downloading ANY software it's always wise to read the whole page. On this page you only have to read the bottom half a dozen lines to know what's what.
  17. A little help for you here on the other side of the water. Lots more colours http://www.titansports.co.uk/rules/snooker.htm
  18. Have you seen this, the latest Recuva build? http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=11754
  19. Looks like you'll have to be added to the list here Aeneas http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=11688 It's obvious that MrG the developer is aware of this problem know so keep watching as they say
  20. Oh no!! Not mastertech and prefetch!!!!
  21. There is no need to go into the options and select the cookies to delete, the process of analyse and run cleaner will do this. This is really just an area where you move items from the "cookies to delete" side to the "cookies to keep" side so that you don't have to log onto forums you go, to such as this one, as you have told CCleaner you want to keep the cookie. When you say you are selecting the cookies and then moving them over via the arrow to the delete side, this must mean they were in the "cookies to keep" area in the first place?
  22. All you have to do to delete cookies that are listed in the cookies to delete section is to open CCleaner, and you will see the big paint brush is selected, just press the analyse button and then the run cleaner button.
  23. Hello Aeneas and welcome to the forum Are you using the beta version or the 1.41 version? XP or vista? Have you actually used CCleaner yet and it hasn't deleted your cookies, is that what you mean? By the way, you could have a read here, most things apply the same but I'm sure there will be a new one when the beta version comes out of beta. http://www.internetrotsyourbrain.com/ccleanerbeginnersguide/
  24. I was always told that a woman knows she's old when her age is more than her chest size.
  25. Tom, the combination of shrink and decrypter does the whole thing. Once set up via the guide you put in the discs (original and blank) and at the end you get a copy without having to do anything else apart from saying what you want to copy. Unless you only have one drive and then you will have to swap discs in the middle.
