Driver updater should make a restore point before installing the drivers. Are you on Win 10 or Win 11? I understand that the most important thing to you is getting your data back first before trying a restore. When this is all over it is time for you to start using a Disk Imaging program so that this will never happen to you again. Are you able to access system restore as you say you have access to cmd ? Type rstrui.exe then press enter. @Willy2 Open Edge. Click 3 dots top right of page. Scroll down to Settings. Select System and Performance from options on the left of the page. Under System turn off 'Continue running background extensions and apps when Edge is closed' I also turn off Startup Boost. -
