  1. Looks like Microsoft is rolling out a fix now https://www.windowslatest.com/2019/08/18/microsoft-is-rolling-out-an-update-to-fix-windows-10-sfc-feature/
  2. SFC will say it is unable to fix corrupt files after being run on Win 10 when Defender is the anti-virus. This seems to be due to an update from Defender this week. See here for more details (also scroll down the page for screenshots) https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-10-sfc-scannow-cant-fix-corrupted-files-after-update/
  3. Deleting Startup Entry in CCleaner

If you right-click on the entry in CCleaner start up list and select either 'open containing folder' or 'open in regedit' which may help you to decide what to do next.
  4. When you open the CCleaner you have what version does it say you are using ?(top left) Are you using the free or paid version?
  5. I'm sure that info will be helpful to Stephen and the rest of the Admin team. Will it upset you to know that the version 1803 will cease to be supported in November I think? You are actually 2 Windows versions behind. But let's not worry about that just now, let's see what the Admins say after they see your replies
  6. @scoobydog Can I just confirm something with you? If you click once on the Windows start flag at the bottom left of your screen and immediately type winver and then click on the tab that comes up, what VERSION of Windows does it say you are running.. 1803? Don't worry about the typing bit, you don't have to look for a box to type the word winver in as Windows works it out itself
  7. The Piriform Factory

Some members aren't aware of the work that goes on at the Piriform factory, which is staffed by forum members by the way. Here is a recent picture of members building a new framework for one of the Piriform products. Any members not shown on the picture will be working a different shift. Where am I?.... I took the picture (all in fun of course) You may need to click twice on it to get it full size.
  8. PC crash on launch

Where did you download Defraggler from? Can you check that Windows Updates is not trying to update on your system.
  9. Also see here https://forum.piriform.com/topic/42673-corrupted-recycle-bin-fix/
  10. CCleaner virus false positive?

I presume you are talking about the CCleaner installer which you got from the Piriform website? Looks like a false positive by Yandex.

  12. Bitcoin

I'm sure there are people here who wonder what on earth this is all about and how you even buy the stuff. Here's a page which uses screenshots to show you how you can buy even $15 (around £12) worth of a bitcoin. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/27/how-to-buy-bitcoin.html

  20. Installer stalls out at 81%

Does the same thing happen if you download and install the Slim Build from here? (last in list on page) https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/builds Also do a quick check that ccleaner isn't running in Taskmanager.
  21. Reading the info given in the link I think it's on both
  22. Chrome has now decided in build 76 to do away with the https and www in the address bar ( according to the post, Google believes that certain parts of the URL are distracting and irrelevant to most Chrome users ) Is CCleaner browser planning to do the same? I really hope not, as I feel dumbing down is reaching a new low these days. (clicking twice on the address bar will show the www etc ) https://www.ghacks.net/2019/08/01/chrome-76-no-more-https-or-www-in-address-bar/
  23. @ProTek2 The fact that it's a Win Pro machine shouldn't make any difference. You made no changes made regarding Win Def or gpedit ? No settings changes about only using store apps etc? I guess you could always try DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  24. Does the same thing happen if you install CCleaner in safe mode?
  25. Why are you cleaning the registry?
