  1. I take it you're talking about IE 7 beta? Microsoft said they will be releasing it sometime this summer. But knowing Microsoft it will probobly be delayed...
  2. I don't have very much RAM on this computer, and I was wondering if the lite version does a decent job. I guess I'll just try to find some info on them.
  3. Looks like a good program and I'm planning on installing it. Dj, would you suggest the "lite" version over the full one?
  4. Let me re-phrase that. That's the second dumbest thing I've ever seen.
  5. After you type in the command and enter it, it scans your computer for the files ending with that extension. It deletes it for good (no recycle bin) so that's why it could pontentialy do something it shouldn't have done. If you want extra security when running the command, you could add the /p switch. It confirms with you before any file is deleted. This can be rather time consuming, but at least it's safer. Heres a quick run down of what the switches do: del /s /f c:\*.tmp the c:\ switch tells it where to look and the /p switch tells it to look in subdirectories. the /f switch tries to force deletion of read only files. And /s confirms with you before you delete anything. If you want to try it out then go ahead. Here's what it would look like with the /p switch. del /s /f /p c:\*.(file extension) Assuming C is the drive you want to clean. [edit] Thuaght you might want to see what it looks like.
  6. 1) XP 2) Ethernet always worked 3) Yes it's still isted in BIOS 4a) Yes 4b) Intel 5) Rolling back doesn't fix the problem When I was looking through device manager I saw the wireless network card, and the ethernet card but there was also a third. 1394 net adapter. I noticed it has a Microsoft driver. The other 2 have Intel ones. Thanks
  7. My laptop is not working. When I plug in the internet cable, the network cable disconnected icon stays in the taskbar. This is the reason I posted it in the hardware section. I figured something must've gotten messed up inside. Laptop is a Vaio PCG-8R7L. Any help would be appreciated [edit] Forgot to mention that wireless works.
  8. You haven't seen their comercials? It's their advertising campaign.
  9. Of course it could, but so could a lot of other things. I did warn him about being extra careful. I use this all the time and nothing goes wrong. You just have to double check what extension you're putting in. Anyway, who would enter .exe? @ englishman, if you feel like something could go wrong then just use G-lock
  10. No, you don't really need G-Lock. Press start, then run, and type in cmd Press enter and a black box should appear. Type del /s /f c:\*.(enter file extension here) Obviously enter a file extension at the end such as tmp, pf, old, ect. example del /s /f c:\*.tmp After you press enter it will delete them.
  11. Start, run, cmd del /s /f c:\*.(enter file extension here) P.S. Be extra careful to not delete anything that's important....
  12. This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. A desktop plant for god sakes! Only $10 USD for each plant. What a joke... Did I mention you can also buy various colors for another $10 each.
  13. No good. I gave up hope trying to fix IE a long time ago. I figure I'll just wait for IE 7 beta this summer. Thanks for trying to help though. Now back on topic...
  14. Sorry, I just couldn't resisit. I picked up something DjLizard missed
  15. Thanks alot. My IE has that active x problem and Windows Update doesn't work sometimes. I still haven't found a solution for it. So I guess I'll be using this. I hope it stays up for a while.
  16. When I can afford a 64 bit system...
  17. Your close. 13 My English teacher would kill me for that
  18. No one will be able to guess my age
  19. Born in Athens, Greece but lived my whole life in Calgary, Canada
  20. Ms word is rather expensive. OpenOffice might do that, and if it doesnt, you can just make a template. You might need to experiment a bit though.
