  1. Hi. It's rather odd situation that application running on Windows stops working without any error message even from system. Log files that you attached unfortunatelly do not provide clear informations what causes error. Is it possible for you to capture short video from desktop that will include steps to crash defraggler ? What also could be helpful is more detailed log file (run defraggler with /debug parameter).

don't you mean that i should use the /debug3 parameter? this because the docs say that debug3 contains a heck of a lot more information

  2. i can say for sure that the program is clean. It has the 100% clean award from softpedia and that is an award that you don't get if it isn't clean... they also do regular check to see if the program is still clean :D

  3. i suggest AutoHotKey (no, i don't have any connections with them except that i am a user of that program)

AutoHotkey is a free, open-source utility for Windows. With it, you can:

    * Automate almost anything by sending keystrokes and mouse clicks. You can write a mouse or keyboard macro by hand or use the macro recorder.

    * Create hotkeys for keyboard, joystick, and mouse. Virtually any key, button, or combination can become a hotkey.

    * Expand abbreviations as you type them. For example, typing "btw" can automatically produce "by the way".

    * Create custom data-entry forms, user interfaces, and menu bars. See GUI for details.

    * Remap keys and buttons on your keyboard, joystick, and mouse.

    * Respond to signals from hand-held remote controls via the WinLIRC client script.

    * Run existing AutoIt v2 scripts and enhance them with new capabilities.

    * Convert any script into an EXE file that can be run on computers that don't have AutoHotkey installed.

Getting started might be easier than you think. Check out the quick-start tutorial.

  4. Well, i have tried it, and i have to agree with JohnDemolition. it slows it only down. As to rridgely: the special mode is there so it DOESN'T make contact with the google servers.

Google WebAccelerator is actually nothing more then a speedy (??) proxy-server

  5. if you find any bugs, you can mail them to me at bugs@decomputeur.nl or report them in the bugtracker.

To find the bugtracker, goto toolbar uninstaller's site, login (or register at the site) and click on bugs

The easy-est way is to report them by mail at the above adress. that way they will also be automaticly added to the bugtracker

  6. Version 1.0 is scheduled to be released on Saturday the 1st of September 2007. The following items have already been updated for the 1.0 release:

    - Fixed a small bug in the caption code

    - Changed the update procedure

    - [0000001] Error after display of options form (eagle00789)

    - [0000005] Need more logfile entries (eagle00789)

    - [0000011] automaticly send bugreports on crashes (eagle00789)

    - [0000014] Risklevels for high risk toolbars (eagle00789)

    - [0000015] List index out of bounds (-1) (eagle00789)

The following items will be updated in the 1.0 release:

    - [0000007] Command Line Parameters missing (/? /auto /update)

    - Many, many, Many new toolbars to be detected. including a few high-risk ones. The High-risk toolbars are automaticly added to the list of toolbars to delete, to make it more easy to delete them.

    - [0000012] There is no helpfile in the program available.

  7. Also I wouldn't doubt if Microsoft at some point phased out updating support on Microsoft Update/Windows Update for SP2 which is really wise in order to get hard headed people to update - it's sort of Borgish "You must comply."

Just like microsoft did already with Windows XP without SP1 and Windows XP with SP1

  8. Like with the release of SP2, there are several bug solved in SP3 that have not been released as a normal update, so if you want those bugs solved, then it will be necessary to update to sp3

  9. Well, Vista is best left alone until the release of SP1 for it.

WinME is called Meer Ellende (More Troubles) here in the netherlands, because it caused more troubles then 98SE, so if you go back to a good old win version, go back to Win98SE (second Edition)

  10. you can prevent a lot of the internet temps by lowering the reserved value for the internet temps. i always use a reserved space of 25 mb. and that is even more then enough for all my downloads (even those that are much much much bigger then 25 mb)

[edit]Oh, and my first clean, cleaned about 7 gb. my latest clean, cleaned just over 55 mb[/edit]
