  1. Hi mta, Okay .... I'll be checking for it. Once again I appreciate you taking the time to answer my posts. Thanks and regards, 2harts4ever
  2. Hi mta, (UPDATE): I decided to uninstall CCleaner version 5.23.5808 and went back to Version 5.22.5724 to see if my error messages in Event Viewer would disappear. After I accomplished the switch I ran a Cleaning and sure enough the error messages are gone using the older version. Hopefully the developers will figure out the problem in v5.23 and I will be able to go back to it. If you hear the problem is solved I would appreciate it if you could let me know either on this post or a message. Once again thanks for your time and information. Thanks and regards, 2harts4ever
  3. Hi again mta, Thanks for your followup response. I think I will just limp along and put up with it until they get to the bottom of it. I just thought I had better check just in case it could harm my PC. I feel better after your response. I had to do a clean install of my Windows a few days back after some corrupted files stopped my ability to update Windows. I have spent the last day or so putting things back in place after having saved them to an external drive before the Clean install. Almost done ....lol Have a great day! Thanks and regards, 2harts4ever
  4. Morning mta, I appreciate your fast and very informative answer. If I would stick with this new program until the problems you mentioned are fixed would I be in any kind of danger or should I go ahead and install an earlier version? Thanks and regards, 2harts4ever
  5. Good morning, Since installing the new version (5.23.5808 64-bit) a few days ago I have been getting two errors in Event Viewer I have never seen before. (1) Event 455: CCleaner64 (4104) testing: Error -1032 (0xfffffbf8) occurred while opening logfile C:\Users\harts\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache\V01.log. (2) Event 489: CCleaner64 (4104) testing: An attempt to open the file "C:\Users\harts\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache\V01.log" for read only access failed with system error 32 (0x00000020): "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. ". The open file operation will fail with error -1032 (0xfffffbf8). I am using an HP 23-g017c All-in-one running Win10 Home 64-bit. This is the first time I have ever seen any entries in my Event Viewer concerning CCleaner and I have used the program for several years. Any thoughts on what is causing these two entries? Thanks and regards, 2harts4ever
  6. Update: Problem solved! The restore points reappeared in the Tools window. Man, computers are fun ...lol Thanks and regards, 2harts4ever
  7. Hi, I am using a Compaq Presario AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3300+, 2411MHz/1.93 GBs RAM, running Windows Xp Home, SP3., with IE8. I just got done telling someone on another forum about the new CCleaner option of being able to remove individual restore points. Then I went to CCleaner to check out mine and they were all gone. I then checked in my System Restore folder and all my restore points are in there snug as a rug. I used the CCleaner removable feature about three weeks ago with success. However, sometime between then and now it appears I have lost this feature. Tonight after finding out that my restore points aren't being displayed in the CCleaner program I updated to the new version (v2.21.940) but I still can't see the restore points in the CCleaner program. Any ideas? Thanks and regards, 2harts4ever
  8. Good morning, The IE8 Compatibility issue is now resolved thanks to the new CCleaner version (2.20.920) released today. Thanks to the CCleaner staff for taking care of this annoyance. Regards, 2harts4ever
  9. interested party, Your fix works for me too. Hopefully MrRon and CCleaner will come up with the complete fix soon. I appreciate you taking the time to post your findings so others can share it too. Thanks and regards, 2harts4ever
  10. Hi eva, Aren't computers wonderful? ....lol Seriously, I am glad you discovered CCleaner fixed the IE8 cookie problem. Regards, 2harts4ever
  11. eva, Well said. Have a great weekend! Thanks and regards, 2harts4ever
  12. Hi everyone, I think the new CCleaner version (V2.19.900) does have the fix for the IE8 cookie problem. For the record I am running a Compaq Presario AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3300+, 2411MHz/1.93 GBs RAM, running Windows Xp Home, SP3., with Internet Explorer 8. Since this new version came out my vanishing cookie problem has stopped. Under 'Internet Explorer' in CCleaner I have EVERYTHING CHECKED except 'Auto Complete Form History. In Windows under Tools > Internet Options > Browsing History > Delete > I have the following items CHECKED: Preserve Favorites Website Data, Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History. I have rebooted several times since the new version was released and each time my saved passwords and cookies have been untouched. I pass this information on just so others know the fix is working for some of us. Thanks and regards, 2harts4ever
  13. MrG, Perfect .... it worked! Thanks for the speedy fix! Regards, 2harts4ever
  14. Mr.T, Perfect ... that did it! Thanks for such a speedy fix. Regards, 2harts4ever
