  1. No other (positive) Vista-solutions ? OK - CCleaner is going to leave my machine tonight. No harm done - I have found other alternatives.
  2. I disagree with you if you don't mind. To me it is THE reason for not using CCleaner - it is not because of a small program like CCleaner that I am going to replace my OS you know ;-) :-)
  3. Yes I do realize a lot. And most of the programs behave the way they should (or the way I want them to behave) under Vista. Until now CCleaner is one of the only exceptions. That is why I uninstalled it. My post was meant as info about a shortcoming of CCleaner, not to start a discussion about Vista.
  4. Yes I did - but it didn't change anything - I still get a window popping up and asking me confirmation to start the program. I even changed the permissiond to full control, but the confirmation window was still there.
  5. Hi, I finally uninstalled CCleaner once and for all. Reason : When I start CCleaner (whether I am logged-in as an administrator or a standard user in Vista), I am always asked for administrator permission. I couldn't get rid of that annoyance, so I got rid of it by uninstalling CCleaner (what a pity). Kind regards
  6. Hi Josie Savez vous qu'il n'y a plus beaucoups de gens dans le monde de l'informatique qui ne maitrise pas un minimum de la langue anglaise ;-).
  7. Hi, I installed the latest version 2.01.507 - It works great (thanks for this wonderful program) - BUT : the cookies to keep option does not work any longer ! HELP ! I am running Vista Home premium and it doesn't matter whether I install CCleaner from within the Administrator or a standard user. I hope that this info was useful ? And yes : I have enabled the "Save all settings to ini-file.
  8. What do you mean with M$ ? If you meant MS then you're a very silly person CANE ! Do not violate proper names, one might do the same with yours
  9. Thanks for the suggestion, but I use IE7. And I like the option to keep some of the cookies in CCleaner - I don't want to delete them all. I guess we'll have to wait for a bug-repair in a next beta of CCleaner.
  10. I have the same problem Jeromy & Lexones. Some cookies are never cleaned up. I am also running Vista Home Premium. Regards

    Managing Cookies

Hi, I'd like to know where CCleaner stores the cookies that I wan to keep. Reason : I had to do a complete restore of my system and I lost that way all the cookies that I saved with CCleaner.
  13. Hi, thanks for both replies. My OS = Vista Home Premium My Antivirus = OneCare 1.6 I have uninstalled OneCare but this does not solve the problem. It must have something to do with Vista, because it ran perfectly well before under XP-home edition.
  14. Hi, I have been using CCleaner for a long time already under Windows XP . It was starting up immediately when I double-clicked its icon - no problem ! Now I have it installed under Windows Vista and it has the following strange behaviour. When I want to start it by double-clicking its icon, then it takes about 30 to 60 seconds before the program opens on the screen. I have uninstalled/re-installed already several times to no avail. Any help available please ? Thanks V.A
