  1. Hi nukecad, A friend of mine suggested I try openning Chrome and select More Tools > Clear Browsing Data and clear Browsing History, Cookies and Other Site Data and Cached Images and Files. This I did and now the new CCleaner Free version 5.86.9258 works OK. Thanks for your help. John
  2. Thanks nukecad for your reply. As far as I know, I do not have Chrome Synced, and I have never heard of or used any of the first 3 sites. I have downloaded and run both ADWCleaner and Malwarbytes, and neither of them found anything. Out of interest, I reinstalled and ran the previous version of CCleaner Free v5.85.9170 and this did not find any of the 8 Google Chrome Cookies.
  3. I have just updated my CCleaner Free to version 5.86.9258 Now when I run Custom Clean it does not remove the following 8 Google Chrome Cookies:- Cookie: ancensored.co Cookie: ancensored.com Cookie: rutracker.or Cookie: rutracker.org Cookie: www.mediafire.co Cookie: www.mediafire.com Cookie: www.three.co.u Cookie: www.three.co.uk No matter how many times I run Custom Clean these 8 Google Chrome Cookies are not removed. Any help would be appreciated. John Hughes
  4. Uninstalled v5.74 and reinstalled v5.73 from your link and now the launch speed is back to normal. Will wait until the next update after v5.74 before I update again. Thanks for all your help.
  5. Hi nukecad, Checked that my McAfee LiveSafe is up to date using the method in the link you provided and every module of McAfee LiveSafe is up to date. I also made CCleaner an exception in the AV and again this made no difference to the loading speed. You say that rolling back to an earlier version of CCleaner may not help but I could try this to see if it does help in my case. You may be correct in saying that it could be something to do with a Windows Update, because the following two Windows Updates were installed after updating CCleaner Free to v5.74.8198 (64-bit):- 2020-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB4586781) Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - v5.84 (KB890830) Unfortunately, I do not understand the comments by Andavari about winapp2.ini as I do not know what it is or what it does.
  6. Hi nukecad, Disconnected from wifi/internet and this made no difference. For information, the first time I run CCleaner after a reboot the loading is extremely slow, subsequent loadings are faster but not as fast as previous versions. I am running Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems, fully up to date with Windows Update. For internet security I am running McAfee LiveSafe.
  7. Latest version of CCleaner Free v5.74.8198 (64-bit) takes much longer to load than previous versions. Anyone else noticed this and is there a solution?
  8. Hi nukecad, Thanks for your help and assistance, will transfer them to cookies to keep to start and see how it goes.
  9. Hi nukecad, Thanks for your reply and the link, which I found very interesting. I very rarely log in to my google account and I don't think I have any kind of google content pre-loading. The tiles on my start menu that are 'Live' are:- Calendar Weather Photos Microsoft Edge WiFi Analyzer Speedtest Skype Groove Music Microsoft Store OneNote for Windows 10 Microsoft News Money Film & TV Facebook Solitaire HP Touchpoint Manager Mail Can I just transfer the 4 Google Chrome Cookies listed to 'Cookies to Keep' in 'Options' > 'Cookies' or will this cause any problems?
  10. If I run Custom Clean a number of times, one after another, the Advanced Report still shows:- Google Chrome - Cookies 0KB 4 files The log shows:- Cleaning Complete - (5.382 secs) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 0 bytes removed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Advanced Report ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Google Chrome - Cookies 0 KB 4 files ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cookie: 02bf959d61da305d57a6d0101c668ddb.safeframe.googlesyndication.com 0 KB Cookie: 0c8e970441a6e1b7c645ad110fb94c94.safeframe.googlesyndication.com 0 KB Cookie: 0ee740e11f5a78009e3e4c5cf320a81f.safeframe.googlesyndication.com 0 KB Cookie: 0pen.page 0 KB Any Comments would be appreciated.
  11. nukecad Thanks for your reply. Have made a note of your advice.
  12. Since the recent Feature update to Windows 10, version 1809, I have encountered the following issue when running the CCleaner Registry Cleaner:- Problem: Application Paths Issue Data: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\ki126109.inf_amd64_db6a2d083f3ea368\igfxEM.exe Registry Key: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Compatibility Assistant\Store After fixing the issue, unfortunately the same issue reappears after a reboot. Any help would be appreciated'
  13. Since the Anniversary Update To Windows 10 Home Version 1607 (OS Build 14393.10) (KB3176929) has been applied, every time I run CCleaner v5.20.5668 (64-bit), I get the following message box appear:- Microsoft Edge Cache Database and Internet Explorer needs to be closed to clean the Internet Cache. Do you want CCleaner to close Microsoft Edge Cache Database and Internet Explorer? There is a box to tick - Do not show me this message again. As I use Google Chrome and not Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer why does this message box appear? I have read the article in FAQ relating to this issue:- CCleaner isn’t able to clean files that are open in any program during the cleaning process. The databases that Edge uses to store data are also used by other programs on your computer to store their own information – these are normally system programs that use Edge’s functionality in order to access the internet. Therefore, if any of these are open and accessing Edge’s database whilst the clean is in progress, CCleaner will need to close the database in order for it to perform the clean. This is why the prompt will appear despite Edge being closed – a different program is accessing the Edge database. How can I find out which programs are accessing the Edge database? Also, what happens if I tick the box - Do not show me this message again, and then click YES to close the Microsoft Edge Cache Database and Internet Explorer? Any help and advice would be appreciated.
  14. Having the same problem with CCleaner 4.07.4369 (running under Windows XP Home SP3) not deleting chrome cookie macromedia.com even though both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome have Cookies ticked. For information, if I revert back to CCleaner 4.04.4197 then the chrome cookie macromedia.com is cleared. Look forward to this being resolved in future versions.
  15. Hi MrT For information, if I revert back to CCleaner 4.04.4197 then the chrome cookie macromedia.com is cleared. I note this is the last version before NVIDIA cleaning was introduced which may or may not be a coincidence. Look forward to this being resolved in future versions.
