  1. You need to browse some sites or do some searches in Lycos with Firefox, then run CCleaner without closing Firefox. Now try to do the exact same searches again, things like the links will not work now.
  2. Feel free to make suggestions it doesn't mean they will be done, but feel free.
  3. What do you think that the over 1 million people that visited the site ignored CCleaner? Or what was the number you used... under 50?
  4. More like a couple Hundred Thousand... Site. You should watch how you treat people you do not know.
  5. Actually the Firefox issue is legitimate and since it has not been rectified in some way it needs to be brought up. I really don't think you want me going away, considering how many people I have introduced to CCleaner.
  6. If it is a real problem with CCleaner then it has to happen to everyone with the same OS, CCleaner version and Internet Explorer version. This is what you nor Taurun understand. This is the way software works.
  7. Which makes even less sense why you are mentioning it. If the problem exists then I should be able to reproduce it. This is extremely important since this is the information Mr.G would need to fix the problem.
  8. That doesn't make any sense if the issue is a software issue it is reproduceable using the same software configuration. I will test this on other machines but the results will be the same because the software is the same. Can you reproduce what you just described? I can't, however I can reproduce the Firefox issue every time.
  9. CCleaner v1.22.142 IE v6.0.2800.1106 Same procedure with www.cnn.com and www.yahoo.com. No problems they work fine.
  10. Yeah, well you get all kinds of people. Usually ones with poor analytical skills that come to ridiculous conclusions. I still think this is the quickest and easiest way to fix the Firefox Issue: A simple solution would be, by default deselect Firefox cleaning. Then when selected you are prompted with a warning, like the advanced section of the Windows Tab.
  11. I would rather not say as I am only interested in resolving the issues. If there is a public link making accusations I will link to it. My intent is not to start an argument but rather to confirm or deny any truth in the accusations. I am a firm supporter of CCleaner and really hate when misinformation is spread. From this I now know the Firefox issue has some truth to it, as I was unaware that could happen. Maybe now some action could be taken to resolve it.
  12. Another claim is CCleaner when run on a Win9x/ME machines deletes the following files: C:\windows\hihem.sys C:\windows\dblbuff.sys C:\windows\ifshelp.sys Is this even possible?
  13. CCleaner v1.22.142 IE v6.0.2800.1106 Using IE I did exactly what I did with Firefox, I visited the same pages and these forums. With everything open I ran CCleaner. Everything works fine. No broken links, white backgrounds ect... This problem is isolated to Firefox.
  14. Right now though this issue appears Firefox specific and since simply restarting the browser does not fix the problem, something needs to be done as I can see this being a common occurence, which can lead to further bad mouthing of CCleaner. A simple solution would be, by default deselect Firefox cleaning. Then when selected you are prompted with a warning, like the advanced section of the Windows Tab. That should eliminate 90% of the problem.
  15. OK this is confirmed and needs to be rectified. CCleaner v1.22.142 Firefox v1.0.4 and v1.0.6 With Firefox open running CCleaner corrupts any pages currently in the cache. These forums go white and on other pages links stop working. -Closing and reopening Firefox does not fix the problem. -Closing Firefox, running CCleaner and reopening Firefox does. Which means this needs some sort of a solution. Either: 1. CCleaner needs to detect that Firefox is open and give a warning before cleaning 2. CCleaner by default should not clean the Firefox Cache 3. Finding out exactly why this is happening and fixing it permanently At the very least a warning needs to be in place. Since I can reproduce this every time, it is a confirmed problem and something Firefox users will run into.
  16. Ok this was in the other post: "Firefox, they are probably running CCleaner while Firefox is open. This is easy to correct..." Can someone explain? Is this simply a matter of restarting Firefox as I am guessing the problem is the cache is cleared if you run CCleaner with Firefox open?
  17. Never mind I found it: link As I suspected no proof of anything. It seems to be more of a ridiculous concern regarding deleting Spybot and Adaware logs and proving how elite he is with Malware. What an idiot.
  18. Thanks but that explains nothing. I am obviously unaware of this could you please link to the discussion then?
  19. I apologize for this but I want to get to the bottom of these accusations ASAP. I hate people spreading BS when it doesn't exist. Another claims is that: "When you run the cleaner and are using Firefox and let it clean everything he couldn't access his homepage." I don't see how CCleaner could possible cause this problem. Was this ever an issue? Thanks
  20. I've heard some unfounded claims about CCleaner's Registry Cleaners integrity. Here is a direct quote: "It has come to our attention that the "Registry Integrity" section under the "Issues" tab has lately been causing System problems on some machines. The reg cleaner has been finding problems that don't exist and deleting legitimate registry entries and some of the backups for "Issues" don't work correctly." I have never personally experienced ANY problems with it can an admin confirm or deny this exists or has ever existed in any versions. Thanks.
