I have never really been able to 'take' to Firefox and believe me, I have tried. As you know I do tend to try other browsers and will usually use the one I try out for a few weeks none stop.
I notice SuperFast mentioned that the latest version has an Opera type dial page. I never use that (default Opera here) preferring to just have a favourites bar, I don't use Opera Unite either.
It must be difficult deciding which version to use of FF with so many versions of it.
Is it the appeal of so many extensions that FF users find so attractive?
(NOT going into the my browser is fast then yours thing here, I'm asking about the FF features that make users want to use it as their default).
Well hazel I don't like FF just for the "extensions" I use it and like it mainly for it's simplicity... for want of a better word:)
You can go crazy and customize FF with all sorts of Add-ons, or just keep it simple with function & security in mind:) Oh and I always launch any browser sandboxed with Sandboxie:)

I"m currently using FF 6.0.2 with a few essential add-ons like NoScript & Adblock plus.
Been using FF for years:)

You can manually type in quotes, here's an example in code:
Thanks Andavari
I think I'll just use my desktop pc for making any post's.
My touch screen tablet is fine for reading post's, just a bit fiddly to use when it comes to typing.

You should all be careful, very careful.
Dots are protected under a new IP Board licence and if more than one dot is harmed or misused the consequences can be severe.
Members with minor dot infringements (such as a dot misplacement) will be known as 'dotterrers' instead of 'members'
Posters with repeated dot infringements will be dotted and no longer allowed to post as they will never be able to end a sentence.
Back on topic. Opera will always be my favourite on XP and I like IE9 on Win7 a lot (sorry craig )
Sorry hazel I'll be more careful wlth my dots err... period ends
Back on topic. When you stop and think about it... we are very lucky to have such choices... Opera, IE, Goo-chrome, FF and so on

The "Startup" (tab) in Msconfig should mirror what CCleaner lists. Well at least it does on my XP system.
It does on my Vista system, however I have noticed double listings of some programs in the Msconfig list?
If ever I disable any startup program I do it with CCleaner and then check Msconfig just to make sure it's disabled there as well:)

So what's the go with DuckDuckgo?
Should I add the 1st (DuckDuckgo) or (DuckDuckgo SSL) to my search engine list?

Thanks hazel:)
I'm using my wife's pc at the moment and now it looks like I'll be spending 1/2 the day getting updates for it....LOL not just Adobe Reader.

I noticed this dot on my screen and I thought crap not another dead pixel. Then I realized it's the period for the end of your sentence that was a couple lines under what you typed.
Hi Andervari:)
Yes I made that post with my tablet pc and as I mentioned in my post above it has limited capabilities:)
Sorry about that stray dot LOL

I noticed that a lot. A lot of image and thumbnail caches and quite a few other FF internet files are 'stored' in IE when you use FF. I think it's a way MS can say "See? IE is integrated with Explorer."
Well I learned something new today:) thanks Corona.
I also learned that my little tablet pc has limited capabilities when making and trying to edit posts here at Piriform' I can't make a post with a "quote" I think it uses an "opera" based browser, and as for an operating system... I have no idea?

Internet Explorer... no thanks! I use Firefox:)
Windows' any version will when needed launch "use" IE under cover in the background.
After running ccleaner you can see that some IE files have been deleted even though IE hasn't been used by the user

My post above was made while on my desktop pc with a 22 inch screen... very bright!
However now I'm using my tablet pc and the white pages "background" work very well:)

It just wouldn't be the same without "G gle & Yah " sitting quietly in the corner.

I also spend heaps of time... flying over, zooming in, and finally dropping down to street view

The white background could do with some softening... shading maybe otherwise a great improvement!
