  1. I do have that Karen's tool, Andavari. Where does CRC32 fit into all of this? When would you opt for CRC32 as opposed to MD5 or SHA?
  2. Is MD5 Checksum a reasonably good file verification protocol -- or are there more accurate ones?
  3. I agree with you, rridgely, Amazon is a pretty good mp3 download sight -- actually, one of the best IMO. And, I feel their prices are fair and reasonable.
  4. I'm sure you've posted this many times over, Dennis, but what's your media player of choice?
  5. Starting with CCleaner version 2.25, it seems like the Analyze time became significantly longer -- maybe at least 2-3 times longer (at least on my machine). What was added that caused this increase?
  6. Congrats, Dennis . . . guess I missed the big announcement yesterday.
  7. Would it be possible to add detection for external hard drives?
  8. Have used Avira Premium for a few years now. Very little problem with FPs -- and no problem at all with updates.
  9. Probably what you've done works just fine -- just more steps. All I did was use the "Starter" program, click on the Startups tab in that program and remove the check mark from the box of Outpost Feedback. That's it.
  10. Hey,Login123 . . . I have ImproveNet unchecked in Settings and have disabled Outpost Feedback in Startup. As a result, I have nothing in my log files and Feedback.exe doesn't even show up in the Applications section of OP. If Autoruns didn't work for you, here's a free app called Starter you could try. This is what I used and it worked for me. Actually, I've used this little program for several years. As I recall, Hazel (mod) might also use it.
  11. Isn't it possible just to block Outpost Feedback in your Startups? I use Outpost Firewall Pro (not free) and there is an option in the general settings menu to either allow or not allow something called ImproveNet, which I'm sure is what Feedback.exe is all about. Supposedly, its anonymously sharing information about new applications and malware.
  12. Use it here all the time -- works very well.

    PDF Form Filler

Thanks for the link, Dennis, I'll give it a try.

    Internet Speed

Not too bad, I guess -- especially the downloads .
  15. Any software suggestions for a good pdf form filler?
  16. If you haven't done so already, you could try MyDefrag (formerly JKDefrag). I think this will accomplish what you're looking for. Also, on the MyDefrag website, there's a GUI version.
  17. Thanks, Andavari, most helpful.
  18. Andavari, can you explain how you install it and how you use it.
  19. Have had mine disabled for some time -- no problems.
  20. Use Avira Premium here -- get regular multiple updates per day. Very happy!
  21. This is not for me, but for anyone who might be interested, here's the Giveaway-of-the-day. . . Driver Magician
  22. Here's another one, Dennis, DriverMax. Had it installed for the longest time, but never used it -- so I got rid of it. I'm always a little nervous about arbitrarily updating drivers .
  23. Maybe I've just been extremely fortunate, but I've used CCleaner for several years, have all the registry items checked -- and have no exclusions. So far . . . no problems at all .
  24. How do you configure OpenDNS Updater 2.1 to run as a Service? Seems like the new GUI has fewer settings options ? like the update frequency, etc.
  25. In general, how does this type of software affect system resources and performance?
