  1. I use Comodo Personal Firewall. Seems nice 'n solid.
  2. Feel's so good doesn't it. Feel's just like driving with a proper license, registration and insurance, cops cant touch ya!
  3. Asus recently released a beta bios for my motherboard, I decided to upgrade to it and...Well, lets just say I spent the last to days fixing my pc. Stupid beta....
  4. I uninstalled my Diskeeper Lite for this product. I love the user interface and how it breaks down every file that is fragmented. I don't have any suggestions as of right now but I do appreciate the fact that whenever I do I can post it here.

I use Diskkeeper 10 and its great, it has graphs and shows the volume of fragmentation on the drive, as far as they 30 day trial goes, all you have to do is uninstall/reinstall on the 29'th day, or before it ends. Its really great, I really notice alot of increase in speed after using it and its very fast. I only have an 80Gig hard drive tho so of course it can breeze through that like its nothing. As far as Iobit goes, I use theyre windows care utility, its great and I think it should be an essential tool on everyones puter. I dont like smart defrag though because it has a bug that wont allow the pc to shut down the program (lets say for a reboot). The pc will just freeze until you manually close the program. They have recognized this on the forums and have yet to fix it (since the last time I used it). Also, I play games on my pc, not very intense games but games nonetheless, and I find that Auto defrag interferes with some games and makes them very laggy. I know this is because its doing its job but I find Diskkeeper is much less laggy than Iobit's tool. Dont get me wrong its a nice tool, and with some work, I bet the final version will be very nice.
  6. I dont like Avira anymore, a few days ago it started detecting Ares.exe as a virus for some odd reason, never done it before so I trashed it because it just kept nagging me. I use Ares alot and have used it many times in the past with no problems. Now I am using AVG which I have used many times before in the past and has never let me down. Even though I like AVG I feel like viruses can slip through pretty easily. I dont know why but I just get that feeling from AVG. I used to have NOD32 and I liked the setup they have but I reformated my hard drive and lost it, didnt bother to re download it and went with Avira. But now because of that Ares thing I use AVG. Im happy with it for now.
  7. I use Comodo firewall but I am finding it interferes with alot of my programs even though I set it to allow. I dont think I will be switching firewalls anytime soon but I will wait and see what Jetico has to offer. I think my motherboard has a hardware firewall, but I dont use it, was wondering if any of you think those firewalls are any good.
  8. Yeah but it seems like everytime I do it, for the first few days everything runs great, but then it seems like my pc always has something go wrong and I have to reformat.
  9. I dont trust Reg cleaners at all, nor do I use them because it seems like once I clean out my registry, the system runs faster sure, but sooner or later I always begin to have problems with it. So now I dont use them period, I have learned that the registry is not something to be messed with.
  10. I agree, I reformat my hard drive alot and downloading those updates takes forever and is a huge pain in my rear. This is because I dont know how to go about burning the updates to a CD or anything. My install disk is WinXP home SP1...
  11. My puter will surely run vista, but Im not going to upgrade anytime soon. Vista is just way to expensive for me to choose it over new hardware...
  12. Actually, ignore that setup, I spoke to some people and they helped me pick out better parts...Here is the new setup, with water cooled case ! Since I'm adding some pci stuff, (e.g TV tuner, and sound card..).
  13. I might be able to get a better system, in a shorter amount of time, probably 2-3 or 3-4 thousand bux of spending money on it, maybe even more, if I land the job I'm applying for tommorrow...What do you guys think..? Is this a good setup? or do I need upgrading?
