Defraggler and System Volume Information

I have a problem with Defraggler, everytime I run a defrag System Volume Information is listed and makes the fragmentation files to about 5 or 6GB. I am running version 2.13.670 (64bit) or my Windows 7 machine. I noticed in this version under "Settings", then "Options", then "Advanced" there was an to use "Custom fragmentation settings" It's checked by default, but System Volume Information is still show in the fragmentation lists. Is there anyway to exclude the folder? Can the developers add System Volume Information to the Restore point exclusions?

if you left the default settings as is, then as you say in your post, they are ticked and therefore excluded.

but it sounds like you are still seeing them in your Defrag anyway.

that would indicate windows/registry is 'broken' somehow.

if nothing else untoward is happening with your system, just try and add that folder to the Exclude list.

normally you don't need to do this with the exclude restore point file ticked, but it would appear your system is not 'normal' (and that is another matter altogether).

Backup now & backup often.

Now for something strange:

In an attemp to defrag my win 7 machine with defraggler (v2.14.706(64 bit)) I removed all system restores (and turned off), remove the page file and set to no page file, etc.

When I run defraggler it tells me:

{88f3cfad-c18f-11e2-8c3d-c8600041f4a5}{3808876b-c176-4e48-b7ae-04046e6cc752} 18 5670699008 C:\System Volume Information\

{cf771c55-c16a-11e2-8250-c8600041f4a5}{3808876b-c176-4e48-b7ae-04046e6cc752} 4 1520599040 C:\System Volume Information\

{7ec044dc-af99-11e2-bb9a-c8600041f4a5}{3808876b-c176-4e48-b7ae-04046e6cc752} 7 1259036672 C:\System Volume Information\

but they are non-existent on the c drive.

I have done this on several XP and win 7 machines with out a problem

Any suggestions???

I just ran defraggler... for the third time..... the "files" are gone... no longer listed by defraggler.... why did they appear in many defrag attempts?
