Yeah, I was hoping someone would come along and help repair it, but I dont think anyone uses the macromedia versions of flash player anymore, so probably good to remove

The current winapp2.ini now shows Mozolla/FireFox even though I don't have either installed. I exported the HKCU\Software\Mozolla key and here it is.

Have we tried using

SpecialDetect=DET_MOZILLA

in winapp2?

Though this may still not fix your issue as that key could indeed be included in the Special Detect

I do not recommend adding [Office MSOCache folder**]. Removing this folder causes the user to have to insert the MS Office DVD each time a MS hotfix for Office is issued/installed via Windows Update. The other option would be to insert a warning message telling the user of the consequences of removing this folder.

 

In [Win XP updates old folders**], removing the $hf_mig$ is not recommended by Microsoft. This folder contains hotfix info and should not be removed.

To remove MSOCache all one has to do is open Disk Cleanup which is built right into Windows and it will properly remove it from the system so there's no registry data pointing to the folder. Doing it this way I wouldn't:

This is a hidden folder with the attributes hidden and system ("HS") on it, and I don't think it's safe to remove it. It's full of read-only .DLL files, etc., and many of the files with no extensions in that folder are also some sort of program or something:

According to Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329260) this is safe to remove, so if someone wants to use it I made a cleaner just for it which will only work on WinXP (OS v5.1) and without all that other unsafe stuff:

It would be very nice if the Mozilla Firefox cleaners could be grouped together in the winapp2.ini file somehow, trying to find them when they're all over the place is difficult.

Many updates for the Mozilla Firefox cleaners.

 

After a clean install of Mozilla Firefox 14.0.1 and not seeing winapp2.ini cleaners working for it I found Firefox didn't create the "HKCU\Software\Mozilla\Firefox" registry key which so many of the winapp2.ini cleaners rely upon for detection.

 

So wanting to more thoroughly cleanse Firefox, I've replaced the detections with:

If you look at those Firefox cleaners in my post just above yours all I have is the SpecialDetect listed, it's what CCleaner does by default with its embedded INI files.

Probably not valid because just like you I don't have that folder with Office 2003 (v11.0).

is cleaned by the cleanmgr function in windows.

 

That's the safe way of properly removing it! Manually deleting it or using CCleaner delete it may cause issues, because on Microsoft's website they state do not delete it or move it.
