Moderators Nergal Posted June 23, 2010 Moderators Share Posted June 23, 2010 How would CCleaner know whether the folder was for an old version or not? ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators Andavari Posted June 23, 2010 Moderators Share Posted June 23, 2010 The folder name is the chrome version numbers. e.g.: 5.0.375.70 The "largest" of the latest. I don't think it's possible as Nergal already detailed. If it were in a dedicated folder like "Old" then it would be possible since everything outdated would reside in there, but with ever changing version numbers it wouldn't be practical or possible in my opinion. alphard
You do not need a specific version numbers to watch, just to keep the greatest mathematical. Google version number: e.g. 5.0.375.70 The first and second number (5.0) the major version number, the third (.375) the current/sub version code, and the fourth (.70) the small update number. The launcher (Chrome.exe) dont use old folder. Google chrome installer, updater does not delete the old directories for reasons of safety, in case someone wants to return back to the previous version. But this brings all the previous version. Each version 100Mb (the installer backup and runtime files), only manually delete the old unused runtime folders.
