Tigerllc74
Lately, I have noticed a big block of black screen when I am accessing a forum topic. This is true for Piriform site as well as other forum sites. Basically, when I click on a topic and screen changes to view the content, there is a big block of black screen at top. Does anyone have any ideas ?? I must have some sort of wrong settings on my computer. Just don't know what???? Thanks, Tiger
Moderators Andavari Posted May 18, 2010 Moderators Share Posted May 18, 2010 Perhaps post a screenshot if that's possible. Could be a video card showing early signs of failure like display corruption, or a damaged video driver that needs uninstalling then reinstalled. Moderators Andavari Posted May 19, 2010 Moderators Share Posted May 19, 2010 "Maybe a bad Firefox addon" which is easily found out by starting Firefox in safe mode which bypasses all addons: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
Tigerllc74
I tried Firefox safe mode. NO black screen. So I isolated to Autocomplete Pro Add-on as the problem. Tried disable Autocomplete add-on only, and NO black screen. Then after several enable and disable tries, now NO black screen even with Autocomplete Pro enabled. (Why?? No idea!!! One of those weird Vista things ??) Thanks for your help. It was a big help. Now I have the black screen under control. Basically, I will just use Chrome to view forum sites. Moderators Nergal Posted May 21, 2010 Moderators Share Posted May 21, 2010 You should let the maker of Autocomplete Pro know of this issue.
