az0025
On 2 of my computers running Windows XP, I get the following errors when I try to Analyze or Defrag: Analysis Failed/Building File List Failed. It runs fine on all my other computers. Having the same problem on one computer (out of three so far). Both windows Defrag and UltraDefrag worked on the drive. Still can't get Defraggler to work. It runs fine on all my other computers. I ran "C:\Program Files\Defraggler\df.exe" C:\ /debug3 and attached is the resulting .txt file. I am also having this problem. I have been using Defraggler for quite some time now, over many versions, and never had a problem with it. This just started last night, and there were no major windows update or anything to prompt this. I tried reinstalling defraggler, but that did not help. Attached is the debug file. Here is what I believe to be the relevant part of the debug file: 2009-05-10] [21:42:39.139] 00f70 1 CVolumeOperationScheduler::ExecuteQueuedMethods#201 ---------------- Long task started ----------------[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.139] 00f70 1 CAnalysis::AnalyzeVolume#19 Entering CAnalysis::AnalyzeVolume[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.139] 00f70 1 CAnalysis::AnalyzeVolume#27 Analysis of volume C: started[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.139] 00f70 1 Wow64FsRedirectorDisabler::Acquire#50 Wow64DisableWow64FsRedirection failed with error code: 0x80070001.[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.140] 00f70 1 CAnalysis::AnalyzeVolume#62 Volume C: flushed.[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.334] 00f70 1 CVolume::ReloadMap#247 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 55 7f a2 04 00 00 00 00 ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff [2009-05-10] [21:42:39.334] 00f70 1 CVolume::ReloadMap#260 MftZone: <12553632, 12604864).[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.344] 00f70 1 CAnalysis::AnalyzeVolume#78 Initialization finished in 0.204 seconds.[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.344] 00f70 1 CNtfs::ReadFileRange#65 SetFilePointerEx failed with error code: 0x00000057 (hVolume: 0x000001bc, offset: 1229026946693312040)[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.344] 00f70 1 CNtfs::LoadMft#32 ReadSector failed with error code 87.[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.344] 00f70 1 CAnalysis::AnalyzeVolume#89 Analysis of volume C: finished in 0.000 seconds.[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.344] 00f70 1 Wow64FsRedirectorDisabler::Release#59 Wow64RevertWow64FsRedirection skipped.[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.344] 00f70 1 CAnalysis::AnalyzeVolume#19 Leaving CAnalysis::AnalyzeVolume[2009-05-10] [21:42:39.344] 00f70 1 CVolumeOperationScheduler::ExecuteQueuedMethods#232 ---------------- Long task finished (time: 0.205s, return code: 0x00000000) ---------------- I run Windows Vista home premium 32-bit on a toshiba laptop. Snowknight26
I have a similar issue when trying to analyze a 15TB RAID (which strangely shows up as only being a few million bytes short of 5 trillion - http://i32.tinypic.com/1zf7z1i.png ) Another thing I noticed was that before the Defraggler GUI even showed, the task manager indicated defraggler.exe (shame it's not 64-bit) using 1.4GB of RAM. But anyway, I've attached a debug log just like everyone else. Would love to see some progress on this issue. Guest MrRon
We have improved the logging in the next release of Defraggler to help us find the cause of this

Great_Scott
Everyone, I don't have an update but I might be able to help. I was using Defraggler to defragment target files, it was working normally. I then decided to further clean up my Windows 7 Pro (64-bit) PC by removing the Hiberfil.sys (using an administrative command prompt typing "powercfg.exe -h off"). I restarted Defraggler to analyse the new drive state and... no ability to analyse. I can find and defrag individual files, however. Strangely, all drives are not analysable, even separate physical disks. OK, even more information. After a second restart to install Windows Updates, it now works again. Maybe Windows system file management interacts with Defraggler in an odd way?
milvus
I have Analysis Failed on my C drive. The others are OK and the opsys is XP SP3. If this problem is over a year old with no fix, I think we can safely write off this piece of software now ? I would not like it messing with my disk, thanks. defraggler.exe.1_21_2092010-09-03_11-11.txt
