Asked to close IE when already closed.

For a number of CCleaner updates now, when I click "Analyze", I am told that "Internet Explorer needs to be closed to clear cookies".  The point is that IE is already closed so why do I get this message? I have Win 10 and IE 11.  Any help please?

if you start the PC in Safe Mode and run CC, does it prompt to close IE?

Backup now & backup often.

Thank you for your replies. I use Norton so it might be updating but, twice now, I have checked Task Manager and IE has not been running and I have not been prompted to close IE. In future when I use CCleaner  I will check Task Manager first and see what happens.

woohoo, at last, some positive news.

I also have never been prompted to close IE, so it'll be good to get an idea of what is running that may be causing the prompt.

keep as posted @Judesman

Sorry to deflate but I am still getting the close IE message even though IE is already closed.

I run IE11 on windows 7 (64 bit) and when I open Ccleaner and go to cookies the message to close IE pops up every time even though I haven't been using IE and it remains turned off.  It is doing this in Ccleaner 22, 23 and 24.

IE message not appearing in safe mode.  Also, since trying safe mode no longer seen in normal mode either.  Strange!

Correction - just appeared in normal mode again, straight after I had run Ccleaner in normal mode, closed Ccleaner and re-opened in normal mode and gone to cookies.
