Thunderbird email app deleted

Recommended Posts

On two occasions over the past three weeks I have run CCleaner only to find that immediately after running it my all files and folders in my email application Mozilla Thunderbird have disappeared.  I finally found how to recreate all my files and folders but I don't need this aggravation.  Are you aware of any similar reports and if so how may I prevent this from happening again.  Thunderbird is not listed as an app. on the side menu of CCleaner, so cannot be unchecked.

Thanks

Trigger

There was an update which fixes. this make sure you have v5.31.6105 (that the last four digits are represented in the ccleaner top bar)

Thunderbird is listed in the applications tab.

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

Also make sure your Thunderbird is updated to v52.2.1

There was a bug in v52.2.0 of Thunderbird itself that caused folders and files to 'disappear'.

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/52.2.1/releasenotes/

Note that first entry in the "What's New?"

FIXED - Problems with Gmail (folders not showing, repeated email download, etc.) introduced in version 52.2.0.
