Hello.

I am using the free version off ccleaner (running on windows 10 pro 64 bit)

At this moment version v5.27.5976 (64bit) installed.

I use it for a long time already.

Today I run the programm .... it took a while so I wanted to start a different program.

When I clicked start i saw almost all startmenu icons being 'removed'.

Only netdrive2, internet explorer and command prompt.

All others are gone .........

Ok .. not a realy problem I can add them again.

But .... in the full program list they are also gone.

So going to the explorer and to the office folder ... go to excel .. click ...... nothing.

After a minute i get sorry, something went wrong, please try again or recover office.

I rebooted the machine ... stil no luck. No excel, lync, outlook, word ... none off them.

Other shortcuts that I had there I can start with a new shortcut from program files folder (but also all shortcuts are gone in full program list).

In the faq/help section it talks about reading the backup .reg file ..... but there is none.

In the options/advanced i have selected "show prompt to backup registry issues"  ......

I have payed version off malwarebtyes, hitmanpro.alert and kaspersky running and have all off them do a search but no real threads found.

What went wrong and how can I restore?

When i go to programs and do a repair off office (both options) i get the same error.

Please advice.

so you ran the registry cleaner in CCleaner?

as to Office, since the repair hasn't worked, you'll be up for an uninstall, reboot and reinstall.

but it sounds like you (Windows) have more issues than just that.

personally I'd be restoring from an image backup or doing a 'reset' of Windows 10 from the Advanced Recovery Options screen.

Backup now & backup often.
