images can be previewed correctly but not recovered?

I have a large number of images that, after running a scan can be previewed in recuva free (1.53.1087 64bit) are exactly as they should be, but are not showing as recoverable (overwriten by the same string each time which includes chars I don't know how to reproduce)

when I try to recover them, I can't find any software so far that will allow me to see them.

Is there any way of recovering these files/copying them across and then viewing them on PC, as they contain some family photos. Even if they are only viewable in a special viewer this'd be ok.
