thisguy3933
The files on my USB got corrupted when I accidentally left it in while my computer went to sleep. I ran Recuva, and it found the files and restored them, but when I checked the directory the recovered files were to be saved to afterwards, none of them were in there. I tried having Recuva create a new file at this stage, and this did not work, nor did saving to a different directory. I also tried having it recover only those files that were not marked unrecoverable with the same results. When I try recovering the files again without closing Recuva, it sees the new directory I created and the recovered files, but when I close and open the program again and try to save the files, it acts as though they were never recovered. This includes any folders I made from the last time the Recuva program was opened. Thank You.
Nancy804
I did the same thing. I accidently save an old excel file on top a new excel type. Now my info on the excel form is outdated. I down load the free version,it did not restore the file content. Is it because it was a free down load version ? If it is then the web site is misleading. It should have stated that only paid version will help recover the data file correctly. I am deeply disappointed.
Moderators mta Posted August 2, 2016 Moderators Share Posted August 2, 2016 the recovery potential between the free and pro version is the same. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last. Nancy804, on 02 Aug 2016 - 08:10 AM, said:the free version,it did not restore the file content. Recuva is designed to recover deleted files. Nothing can restore old content. You overwrote your Excel file so the old contents have gone forever. You might find an old edit copy but the chances are slim.
