Here's some info on the new features. Some of them I must admit I find a bit scary, such as ''Microsoft Graph Tracks Your Activities, and the Timeline Helps You Resume Them Anywhere' 'and also Cortana seems nosier than ever.

Always something to look forward to isn't there

That is actually kind of cool. I can be working on a document/playing music on my laptop then close the lid and my desktop picks up where I left off? I already do something similar with chrome. I can be using it on my phone/tablet/desktop and pick up wherever I left off on one of the other devices. If this works the same way but with all my programs then I will enable it.

The improvements to OneDrive sound nice. I've switched to google drive but if those work the way they are supposed to I might switch back since I already pay for office 365 and have unlimited storage (although my gmail storage is only $20 per year so I might not bother)

I didn't notice a huge difference in the first "creators" update besides a change in the set up procedure and a few extra apps I don't use. I did like that they migrated a few things from the "control panel" to the settings window but they really do need to simplify the settings situation so there aren't two different places to make certain changes.

I'm not sure that I like the idea of that cloud-based clipboard.

The way that article reads then anything you copy into the clipboard will be automatically uploaded to the cloud without you having any say in it.

There again I don't like cloud storage at all, you can have all the AV and antimalware you want on your PC, and then your files can just be stolen out of the cloud.

How much personal information do your documents in the cloud contain?

From your address/phone number/email to your bank account, credit card, isurance, tax, etc., etc. details.

In fact just about anything you have ever written in a letter and saved to the cloud or synced to another device.

It may not be worth a hacker trying to get into your machine just for your files, but a server holding the files of millions of users is a more tempting target.
Big servers get hacked everyday, hell banks and governments get hacked all the time - why should a commercial server be any more secure.

I wonder how long it's going to be before we see a major cloud-storage server hacked and user files stolen?

Dropbox was hacked in 2012 and Opera cloud storage was hacked last year.

They both say that only encrypted passwords were stolen, anyone believe that?

(Once the fox is in the henhouse he's not just going to stop and just eat the eggs).

Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning? See this link:

Out with the old, in with the new huh?

For the record, EMET is still being updated as a stand alone product for Windows Vista - 8.1 users. I believe the EOL date is July 2018. Mostly will just be fixing bugs, false positives and conflicts. Still, was nice of them to extend it.

I am a maintainer for Winapp2. I also have a open-source group on Steam.
