somuchmoore
I downloaded CCleaner free v5.28.6005 to see if it would help my computer. When I had it analyze and clean it put a bunch of folders and files in quarantine that it was not supposed to. 1. Why did they get moved to quarantine? - These files where in my documents. These files were not deleted files. 2.I need those files back. How do I get them out of quarantine? - Is it as simple as moving them from the quarantine folder and back to the documents folder? - System: Windows 10 Thanks, Steve
Moderators hazelnut Posted April 10, 2017 Moderators Share Posted April 10, 2017 CCleaner does not have a quarantine folder. Did you just do an ordinary clean or did you do a registry clean? What type of files were they and from what program? Moderators Andavari Posted April 11, 2017 Moderators Share Posted April 11, 2017 CCleaner is not an anti-virus or anti-malware tool, it is a cleaning tool but knows nothing of any viruses or malware that may be on a computer. If you clicked the Run Cleaner button, you'll need to either restore your files from a backup you've made, or attempt to get the files back with recovery software such as Recuva.
