You don't have to add extra FileKeys with %ProgramFiles(x86)%

When CCleaner detects 64bit it points %ProgramFiles% to the right direction (in this case C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\)

It's just like %LocalAppData%, CCleaner will automatically point it to %userprofile%\local settings\application data\ on Windows XP. ;)

Aww I just tested this with few rules and it seems you are right, which is somewhat disheartening. Would it make sense then, to remove all the added things? :( At the very least I did add/update some entries I suppose :lol:

If your recent test on a FEW RULES shows that a they are redundant, it neither proves nor disproves the value of other rules.

Windows 7, and also presumable Vista, has BLACK HOLES where data disappears over the Event Horizon.

All the rules are broken. Abandon hope all ye who enter ! ! !

I have just posted information on this problem at :-

I will do some additional testing with one of my windows xp boxes, I suspect that some of the paths at the very least have altered, but I don't know. :)

Aside from that, heres an updated version (with added filekeys still there)

[icon Cache]

LangSecRef=3002

Default=true

FileKey1=%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data|IconCache.db

FileKey2=%LocalAppData%|IconCache.db

*** Correction ***

[icon Cache]

LangSecRef=3025

Default=true

FileKey1=%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data|IconCache.db

FileKey2=%LocalAppData%|IconCache.db

So that it will be added under the Tab Applications>Windows

and Not under the Tab Applications>Windows Explorer

(since it can Not go under the Tab Windows>Windows Explorer - where it normally belongs).

It does not.

Then, you can make the above Correction (3002=>3025) so that the respective Icon Cache entry

looks like:

[icon Cache]

LangSecRef=3025

Default=true

FileKey1=%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data|IconCache.db

FileKey2=%LocalAppData%|IconCache.db

Thank you for your hard work!

Nice work Winapp2.ini.

This just jumped out to me, though.

[*CleanMyPC Registry Cleaner (Backups)]

DectectFile=%ProgramFiles%\CleanMyPC\Registry Cleaner\rcleaner.exe
DetectFile=%ProgramFiles(x86)%\CleanMyPC\Registry Cleaner\rcleaner.exe
Default=True
FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\CleanMyPC\Registry Cleaner\UndoCenter|*.*
FileKey2=%ProgramFiles(x86)%\CleanMyPC\Registry Cleaner\rcleaner.exe

FileKey2 will not give the desired result I think.

FileKey2=%ProgramFiles(x86)%\CleanMyPC\Registry Cleaner\rcleaner.exe

I know I said I didn't check most of the entries, but judging by the detect file, that on is REALLY bad. :lol:

Someone dun goof'd

I've fixed it in my copy, I'm still testing some stuff though.

Cool, checked and merged with mine and good to go thanks :) I like some of the new adds too (P.s. For next one you can remove realplayer sp it's = to winapp.ini and also the second * on quicktime for vista and seven 1) no longer needs cache new winapp.ini does that correct now 2) doesn't need extra * ) again, Winapp2.ini thanks so much for your work you're awesome.

As of CCleaner 2.36.1233:

Quicktime for Vista and 7 can be removed

These lines can be removed from winapp2 MS Office Picture Manager

FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OIS|OIScatalog.cag

FileKey2=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OIS\thumbnails|*.*

(however the rest on the entry is still valid i think. . . unless %localappdata = %userprofile%\local settings\application data\ then entire entry can be removed)

Cheers

Also Malwarebytes is double listed (winapp.ini and winapp2.ini) I'm not sure how the new detect programfiles64 works in ccleaner's winapp.ini (if they have to listed the two versions. so I'm going to put both the winapp2 and winapp version below and let us figure out what to do

Winapp2

[Malwarebytes' Anti Malware*]
LangSecRef=3024
DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
DetectFile=%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
Default=False
FileKey1=%appdata%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs|*.txt
FileKey2=%appdata%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Quarantine|*.*

Winapp

[Malwarebytes Anti Malware]
ID=2162
LangSecRef=3024
DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
Default=False
FileKey1=%appdata%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs|*.txt
FileKey2=%appdata%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Quarantine|*.*

the difference being your's listed (x86)

Also: any objections for me to change thread title and sticky in now that winapp2.ini (the user and the file) are up and rolling?

No objections, I'm very curious as to what %Programfiles32/64% do but haven't gotten around to testing them just yet. I will do so soon (and remove that malware bytes entry since I guess it was just added in the new version? :) )

  • Added support for Paint Shop Pro X3, VLC Media Player, MediaMonkey, Winamp, Malwarebytes Anti Malware, Avast! Antivirus and WinPatrol.

looks like my VLC is obsolete too (/feels special it was included officially, since I wrote it :P)

I have to look but I think some of the other things are in winapp2.ini also

-Removed VLC

-Removed Malwarebytes

-Reoved Avast!

-Removed Winamp

-Removed WinPatrol

-Removed both Quicktime entries

-Removed FTP accounts

wooh! :)

Glad to know the Devs are watching for frequently requested applications :)

EDIT: I'm actually going to go through the list to check for more things that are now obsolete (I really dont notice a lot due to the lack of the required detect! :unsure:) Expect another update within a day or two :)

Also of note it seems many entries were moved to default=false (setting it to not clean until noticed by the cccleaner user). Safe I think for many, good choice

Yes I did that in the previous update, since I felt it should be up to the end user.

Sorry to do a double update but this version removes more obsolete entries :)

Malwarebytes is still part of the update download above.
