Google Chrome Browser Plugin Extensions cannot be deleted from google account or using CCleaner!

Hello, I'm new to these forums. Just registered because I wanted to ask regarding this issue which I could not find anywhere on the internet.

This is a problem I have detected for a long time now but I have never found a solution to this. I even downloaded the CCleaner Professional Edition and that also can't delete them.

As you can see in my CCleaner Google Chrome Browser Plugins it is impossible to delete the entire history of previous shortcut icons that I added for say last year. For example the eCRATER.com, Gumtree.com were shortcut icons I added last year to desktop. So I no longer need them. So despite deleting them, resetting browser history, etc.

This gets re-imported back to my google chrome browser extensions plugins as soon as I login to my Google Account again. If I select the option to REMOVE THIS PERSON only then this data gets erased from the browser extensions plugins. But if I login to the Google Chrome Browser again it re-syncs it all and there is nothing I can do about it. Okay why is this a problem? Well this creates an infinite loop of browser web links that can never ever be erased unless I probably delete my entire google account but this is impractical. Since I have Google Play Store purchases which I will lose if I do that.

CCleaner cannot delete them because it says "Some of the selected items cannot be changed as they are protected by the browser".

I would like to know how do I delete those browser extension weblinks from my account so that they don't get re-synced everytime I login to the web browser login screen from google account? So that way they don't come back on the CCleaner Browser Plugins Extension list.

Many thanks.

Have you tried deleting them from the browser while you are signed into your google account?

Did exactly that, did not work! None of the options worked.

I think it has something to do with the Hosted App Data. These are the 31 websites that are listed such as ***LJs LiveOnSat Football - Soccer Schedules on TV. They appear as Hosted App Data and they are exactly the same ones that are listed in the CCleaner Browser Plugins Google Chrome tab.

So even after I click the CLEAR BROWSING DATA button these fail to be erased. Only search history from address bar and passwords are erased. But the Hosted App Data that appear in the Google Chrome Extensions folder cannot be erased. I've had no success in clearing them off besides removing the attached logged account from the google browser. But this doesn't really solve the problem because after logging back to the Chrome Browser using the Google Account these Hosted App Data web plugins get re-synced back in making them all reappear back in the CCleaner Browser Plugins.

I don't know how to contact Google Support. You can try for yourself, you'll probably have the same problem... Unless I am doing something wrong.

Problem solved! Unbelievable!! :D

I just got a response from Google Chrome Community Specialist Matt from the Google Forums. Turns out the problem was indeed corrupt profile that wasn't being successfully cleared. He said that what I needed to do was to Reset Sync! "Reset sync to clear your data from the server and remove your passphrase. This will not clear data from your devices. Sign back in to Chrome to start syncing."

After that I went to
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data. I deleted the entire User Data folder. Then the next thing I did was CLEAR BROWSING DATA. This now successfully reset the Hosted App Data back to 0.

After that when I logged back in again as normal using my Google Account it's back to a fresh state they no longer appear in CCleaner Browser Plugins and they are also not listed anymore in Hosted App Data

What's actually more amazing is that I actually found out another better solution on how to manually remove those short-cut sites without having to completely clear the browsing data! So that way you can delete them from appearing in the CCleaner Browser Plugins and from your Google Account sync data. Solution for that is to go to the Google Chrome Address tab type in chrome://apps/ hit enter. Then right click on the created short-cut apps and click Remove from Chrome. This allows you to remove the short-cut icons manually and gets rid off them from the CCleaner Browser Plugins Google Chrome list. Now you can have any created desktop short-cut icons with their web icon created on desktop without these names appearing in CCleaner!

This now automatically removes them from the CCleaner Browser Plugins while also maintaining the desktop short-cut icons of any websites that you've created. Never realized the solution was that simple!!!
