Umrk
Hello All, I have downloaded the recently released update to CCleaner v. 5.33 four separate times and each update subsequently failed with the following error message returned shortly after starting the update: "Error opening file for writing:" I attempted the install as a "regular" user as well as an Admin. FWIW I did not rename the update upon download. IN fact, I followed the same procedure I always have. I attached a image of the error message and progress indicator. Any suggestions? TIA, Umrk
Moderators Nergal Posted August 15, 2017 Moderators Share Posted August 15, 2017 Make sure ccleaner isn't running, check system tray and task manager ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
